Tarot Card Comparisons: The Thoth 6 of Disks & The Babylonian Tarot- 6 of Disks-Assistance.

In the Thoth Deck, the four Sixes represent the center of the whole system of the Tree of Life, known as Tiphareth (Beauty). The Sixes, Tiphareth, are the only Sephiroth below the Abyss that communicates directly with Kether (Crown). Tiphareth, is fed directly from Chokma-Binah (wisdom-understanding) and Chesed-Geburah (Mercy-Severity).

If you were a student of the Human Auric field and the Chakras, you' know Kether as the Crown Chakra ( Sahasrara chakra), and Tiphareth as the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura chakra).

Tiphareth dominates the lower Sephiroth of the Tree of Life, as it is balanced both vertically and horizontally, giving it Supremacy over physical life. Tiphareth is also known as Beauty-the Christ-Consciousness.

As a planetary influence, Tiphareth represents the Sun, as a theosophical concept, Tiphareth is the theological Son who represents consciousness in its most balance and harmonized form.  The Son is an interpretation of the Father in mind and form rather than just idea.

The Six of Wands-Victory, is the conclusion of the outburst of violent energy generated by the Five-Strife. and the battle is won. However, there is a certain instability displayed here, because of the violent outburst of energy applied----causing the "pendulum" of motion to swing high, and soon it will drop into fast downfall. Leading to the 7 of Wands-Valour, where energy is at its last gasp.

The Six of Cups is called Pleasure; the kind of Pleasure that is completely harmonized in body,mind and soul. The Zodiacal sign governing this card is Scorpio--a very deep Water sign of subtle complexities, extreme psychic abilities, and a sensual lover. So, in this union, Pleasure has its most fertile soil and is arguably the best card in the Pack. The fact that the Pleasure of Christ-Sun, is the perfect balance and harmony of All the Chakras from Crown to Root, and is known as "the orgasm that never stops", will escort the willing Student to deeper and deeper studies into the Tantric Mysteries, which is as the Qaballah, another contributor of the Gnosis.

The Thoth Deck Six of Swords is called Science, and is ruled by Mercury. This is where the mental element of success has turned away from division and quarrel and there by leaving intelligence to win the goal; impeccability of mental function.

The Six of Disks, the main subject of today's blog, is called, Success and is ruled by the Moon.

This is a very heavy card, devoted to settling down, where over time, the lack of imagination, and a certain dreaminess, will drag the current down to a mere evaluation of material things. Yet, this current comes from the Moon being in Taurus, the sign of the Moon's exaltation; making the best of the Lunar qualities inherent.

Being a Six, the solar qualities have fertilized the Moon creating a balanced system for the time being.

Much like the balance between the Gravitational pulls of both Sun, Moon, and Earth eventually reach a point of stabilization where the tides are neutral on the Earth's ocean. But as on Earth, this is temporary and soon change is coming in your life currents. Giving credence to the statement," Success is a temporary respite on the path of labor".

All in all, the sixes are a very much appreciated relief from the Severity of the fives, but for living matter, permanence is constant change, only nonliving things reach a seemingly permanent static environment. Such as  the difference between organic carbon atom based life and carbon atom purity as a diamond; diamonds are dead and cannot regenerate, where as carbon atoms in the form of organic matter can and often do. Life force, cannot make a diamond alive, for it belongs to stasis. The organic carbon atom, is the most flexible of all atoms, and will accept many other atoms easily. Therefore, it is the perfect foundation for life forms, that need to evolve to stay alive. Evolutions also states that"Success is a temporary respite on the path of labor".

To reiterate; the sixes imply definite accomplishment and the carrying out of a matter.

However, 6 is not only a number of the Sun and of accomplishment, but also that of Christ/ Buddha consciousness. thus a certain sacrifice is made. Being the number of the Dying gods, throughout myth, 6 also represents a definite personality deconstruction in order for reconstruction that brings success.

 

 

The colors on the Thoth Deck Card, are somewhat muted in this rendition; However, the center glows in dawn's light of rose-madder, surrounded by three concentric circles of golden yellow, salmon-pink and amber. Suggesting Tiphareth fully realized on earth. The usual arrangement of the Planets, as disks, are being irradiated by the Sun at the center. Again, Tiphareth is the Sun/Son and is here, idolized as the Rose and Cross. This is a  forty nine pedaled Rose, implying the interplay of the Seven with the Seven...The Feminine is never separate from the Masculine, it is their interplay that makes Life.

its artful depiction of the Babylonian deities known as Lahmu (meaning -"hairy ones") who were said to be of the "silt of the Ocean".

In the Sumero-Babylonian story of Enuma Elish, the primordial couple of the male and female Lahmu, were born of the coupling of Anu and Tiamat. This primordial couple in turn produced  Ansar and Kisar, who were the parents of the sky god Anu.  These hairy ones, were considered benevolent and protective deities, therefore they were often found as small statues in building foundations. They were usually depicted as having a long beard and long curly hair.

Fifty of these Lahmu, were said to have inhabited Ea's temple in Eridu where they controlled the ocean and availability of food fish.

At the bottom of the Babylonian Tarot card, are two Lahmu holding overflowing hegallu vases, as they are assisting two thirsty buffalo. Above are three disks containing the Crescent Moon and three disks containing the image of a bearded bull, referring to the Moon in Taurus astrological association of this card. In the upper part of the card, is the cuneiform symbol for the number 6.
