The Tarot of EliThe Thoth Tarot- QUEEN OF DISKS & The Night Sun Tarot-QUEEN OF PENTACLES.

Archetype core- Personality--Generous, fertile, opulent, compassionate, comfortable, supporting, Mastery of Reflection and nurturing.

In the zodiac, The Queen of Disks rules from 21 degrees Sagittarius to 20 degrees Capricorn ( the symbol of the goat on the card).

This represents the function of Earth as Mother. Everything about her is abundant; affection, passivity, kindness, generosity, sensibility and practicality.

The Thoth Queen card shows a Teutonic like image representing the Goddess Erda who was primary Muse and  universal life giver to many primitive cultures in Europe.

As a persona (from the Latin Personae, which means Mask) the Queen of disks (Pentacles on traditional tarot decks) represents a mature, dark woman who is practical and able to make specific forms  out of potential substance. In other words, she is able to both nourish and define. She is the physical nutritionist. We must also remember that a personality is but a mask over the face of our Spirit. Which another Thoth Queen, Queen of Swords, points out as she holds a mask in her left hand.

Esoterically for the querent, the Queen of Disks, suggests a high level of compassion, loving and nurturing the earth, and rejoicing in life.  This card also suggests a gift from a rich relative and since it is a Threshold for birth ( giving substance to dreams) the Queen of Disks can also represent a happy marriage for a young man.

The Queen of Disks, is a personality grounded in mothering and the earth. She shows great harmony with the Physical World  and health. This is a Wise Woman of Earth, who is very intelligent when it comes to physical things but can have difficulty arising above the material world.

There is great symbolism to this card:
  1. The dual meaning of the Serpentine Horns on her helm that represent the Horns of Hathor (Egyptian Earth Goddess whose symbol was the cow) and the Life force of Earth.
  2. The Capricorn goat.
  3. The Crystal headed staff of Life (Crystallized light is what earth material is called in metaphysics).
  4. The Reptile Patterned Dress that symbolizes regeneration force (serpents shed their old skin to become new).
  5. The Pineapple Throne of Earthly Wisdom and nutrition.

For the Qaballist, the Queen of Disks, is Water of Earth, Specific Water in the World of Primal Earth.  On the Thoth card, she holds a symbol of her ruler-ship over earth, the  six sided solid (cubed crystal) that refers to the Altar of the Mysteries. The Mysteries, are the Gnosis of many studies, from that of Alchemy, Qabalah, Tantra, Theosophy, Rosicrucian, Theology, philosophy, The Emerald tablets, etc.  Therefore the Qaballistic study of this card requires greater depth than this blog can represent on one page. I advise the serious student to do their research.

To reiterate: The Thoth Tarot-Queen of Disks, is the Organic Living Organism of Earth. Gaea to some, Mother Nature, of all physical organic life, to others. She is the Water/Blood Of Earth and nurtures all of us with "mother's blood" that flows through our circulatory system. With the globe in her hand, she builds worlds with diet and nutrition.

The reptilian gown on the Thoth Queen of Disks, represents her  capacity to regenerate her body (organic living organism) through diet and nutrition. The pineapple throne she is siting on, represents the new fruitful worlds that she creates from past barren deserts.
With the clarity of her crystal wand, she established nutrition in all financial, health, work related areas and relationships.

With the practicality of the Capricorn goat and Aries the Ram ( her crown), the Queen of Disks establishes stable diets for herself in all areas of her life. Erda, the Teutonic goddess, who was worshiped by all primitive peoples as the universal life-giver and primary muse.

As stated before, Binha, the Creatrix, is the "will to form" and is a force that is imposed on the Pure Fiery Energy of Chokmah.
She is known as Understanding, the 3rd Sephiroth on the Tree of Life. As one knows, for an idea, once understood, can be molded into manifestation.
Again, these are not Persons, but States of Conscious Energy, called "Beings" (Archetypes) that are parts of the Divine Collective Unconscious, meaning the deep Imagination of The Tetragrammaton (YHWH), "All That Is", where images are formed and words won't explain.  Images are the only way to realize these deep inner layers of Mind and that before Mind.

Binah is the 3rd Sephiroth on the Tree of Life, in the upper part called the Supernal Triangle, She is the essence of Womb, and I often call this state of Mind a "Womb with a View", because She conceives by Understanding.

The Queens of Tarot all represent the Water/Unconsciousness in each suit; water representing Unconsciousness. They are enthroned in the Element of Consciousness (Un-Conscious is a state of Conscious) and make it bring forth the Force of the King, by realization and understanding that develops that force. As consciousness does to idea. On the Night Sun Tarot, the force of the King is implied in the Hebrew letter, Heh (upper center), that means window or sight, and is assigned to the Emperor-Key 4 card, in the Thoth Tarot.

The Queen of Disks, often called the Queen of Pentacles, is also Queen of the Thrones of Earth; Queen of the Gnomes. The Night Sun Tarot, shows her surrounded by fecund growth, even intertwined with her padded throne. On her head the "crown of thorns" that implies the sacrifices of rule.
Her crescent horned mantle, indicates the Moon, and or Mother Goddess.  In her hand she holds the golden coin, with pentacle center.  In gold, above her head, and in the upper right, is the sigil for earth.  On the upper left of this card, is the sigil for water; implying she is "water of earth".
Astrological attribution is last Decan of Sagittarius and the first two Decans of Capricorn.
The Queen of Pentacles is Water of Earth, a specific consciousness in the Primal Earth element. Most of us call her "Mother Nature".

Her ruler-ship over earth is implied in the art of this Night Sun Queen card.
Her Throne is color of vegetation as she is the life of such. On the Thoth Card, she is the Highest Aspect of passivity and this is shown as a winding passive river flowing through and fertilizing waste land. On the Night Sun, her passivity is implied as one sitting at rest.  The Great Work is ultimately expressed in fertility, where the "As a Above manifests in the Below'. She as Queen of Earth,  is the facilitator of such manifestation.

The Disk on the Thoth Queen's left arm is curved with loops and spheres interlaced, representing the ambition of matter to take part in the Great Work. This ambition is often described as Fecund motion. This is also shown by the Spiral Horns on Her helmet/crown, as Spiral force is both Spirit and Vital Life Force.
Once again, the reptilian patterned armor of the Queen represents the regenerative force in nature, as serpents shed their skin to become more.

Hence the Queen of Disks or Pentacles:
represents the Watery part of Earth and the function of that element as Mother. She is also "Grandmother River" to certain Native Nations.

As before stated: In the Zodiac She rules from the 21st degree of Sagittarius to the 20th degree of Capricorn and represents the Highest aspect of Passivity/or Magnetic Force in Repose. As a psycho- physical (psychosomatic dynamic) union, we may notice that just by sitting by a calmly flowing river, we can feel  inner peace flowing through our desert landscape of worry and fear. We become re-balanced and centered again by the Magnetic Flow of the Great Mother. This is the very essence of our Form's life giving blood and brings back the feeling of paradise that form gives Spirit.  Grand- Mother River is a great Lover of Being! She is the river of Psychic-Magnetism, that forms all light into beings.

The Thoth Card depicts a  goat standing on a sphere, referring to the dogma of the Great Work as fertility (The expansion and liberation of life.) The Helmet she wears is of coins and/or disks, and upon it are the Great Spiral Horns of the Markhor. Her staff is topped by a Crystal Cube (Three dimensional Hexagram)  and in her left curved arm and hand, is the Spiral decorated Disk/shield. Everything in creation is a spiral creation better known a "circles upon circles".  Once again, all this represents the Ambition of matter to participate in The Great Work and/or Creation. Besides being Erda to the Germanic tribes, she was also called "hairy Mari", by certain ancient christian sects. Implying the Animal Mind of Earth, which we now call Mother Nature. To the ancients, Mari was the name of the Ocean goddess, therefore,  hairy Mari was the "land animal" aspect and/or Creatrix that is the great Ocean Mother.
