THE TAROT OF ELIThe Thoth Ten of Disks-Wealth:
Prosperity, wealth, success in the world of finances and physical health. This card is the sum total of the other 35 minor arcana since wealth is a synchronicity of mind, body and soul. The

Thoth 10 of Disks, suggests that by using your communication skills (Mercury symbols on top three coins) and linking them with your healing abilities (the caduceus on the bottom coin) while listening to your inspiration (the star coins)you will be able to manifest abundance (the three Hebrew symbols for abundance- coins).

The Astrological sign for this card is Mercury in Virgo. Mercury is the representative planet for communication and organizational skills.  Virgo is the sign of prosperity and abundance  manifested in a tangible way. This card indicates that all Ten of your conscious states of energy (The Ten Sephiroth of the Tree of Life) contribute to a balanced flow of healing, communication, and organizational skills all accumulating to active function on the physical plane. Therefore, your Spirit and body are manifesting abundance.

Obviously this is a card of prosperity and also obviously, it will change, but for now eat, drink and be merry. We should also understand that Wealth becomes prosperity when we spend it as our wealth prospers others and thus ourselves which is a form of communication.

To reiterate, MALKUTH is Earth. that is also called the Active Word and/or Assiah.  It is the lone Sephira or conscious entity of this World.
In the other Worlds of the Qabalistic Tree of Life, there are Three Sephiroth composing a Triangle, but Assiah/Malkuth stands alone, for it is the completion of all the other States of Energy Conscious. It is the only realm of Sensual Activity; of sensually discriminating Creation.

Now this sensual peculiarity  may seem otherwise to the Initiate who sensually experiences the "Inner Worlds" of the Tree of Life. However, they often forget, that they are still "attached" to a Sensual body, and thus feel the sensual- Conscious experiences.  But to travel the other Sephiroth without a body, is to feel nothing at all!

Without the physical body, there is only One Sense to Consciousness, and that is the sense of "I" sight, thus all the "Five Senses" of the mundane body, are just Transformations of that One Sense of "I". To those who practice the Mysteries, there are considerably more senses "felt" than five...as many as ten or even 33 suggested by the Tantric masters, but that is not for this blog to describe, so if you are interested in a greater Wealth of Sensuality....start your journey up the Tree while you still support a physical body.

The Thoth Deck TEN OF DISKS, is called the Ten of Pentacles or Ten of Coins, in other decks. Crowley wished to show the stable motion that is required in a "Solid" world...the Spinning of a Disk. Where the Stability of a Discus is in its spin. I find this to be a brilliant insight (of which he had many) and agree with his philosophy. It is indeed the spiral "E-Motion" of our conscious self that balances our "Crystalline" outer Self; our life motion.
THE TEN OF DISKS, is called the Lord of Wealth and is Mercury in Virgo.

The Angels associated with this Decan are Hahaayah and Laviah.
Again, this is MALKUTH in ASSIAH which is the influence of Malkuth in the Material world.

The Astrologers assign Mercury the God of commerce, as the ruler of the sign Virgo. Thus this placement is often called an embarras de richesses, as material gain here is so vast, that it often loses importance. Therefore, this vast materiality is shown on the Thoth Deck Ten of Disks, as the whole Tree of Life; of Ten Sephira as Disks decorated with the various symbols of Mercury.
Truth, being, that the Whole Tree of Life is dedicated to this Manifested world---------it is the Goal achieved, by the Greater Self/Divine Creative.

Our purpose as physical Spirits and or operators of the Master Power Tools, the Human body, is to establish, the "As above, so below", i.e. The Great Work of the Qabalah.

As energy that is Spiral in motion, we are "everywhere and no where" at the very moment of "I"; a kind of diffusion into eternity. But with a "God-Mind" body (Hu-Man) I am the ability to focus on one "moment" in the Time Space continuum, giving me not only the "sense of presence" but the ability to discriminate my motion! In other words----"freedom of Choice" which simply means free to move by perspective.
Now this ability to be as I perceive- Rocks! I find it very fulfilling to be able to have a "sense of presence", and move about sensually,  fulfilling my creative-self, by producing "me", an experiment in sensual-self-perspective.  To be able to do so is indeed a gift, an inheritance, a Wealth, that mere ideas, do not receive in the vast Mind of God...until now! Our vast fortune is all around us---but many do not see it.

It's time we realize that we, each individual, are the "Sacred Place in Time Space"! We, as Spiral Entity (Spirits) have inherited the Earth, not because we are bad or Lustful (The Lust of Goddess/God built us after all!) We are the accumulated Wealth of all Creation--made alive and sensual!
God's Self Experience (Self Awareness) built us as a Solution to a problem! We solve the problem of how to focus intense energy (e-motion) to a point in time space; to nullify entropy and be able to deconstruct and reconstruct right at the time and place of "seeing an error" and to discriminate thought to the point of seeing error before it is built!
We of Spirit Rock Dudes and Dudesses!
I am the Image maker, who can recreate image by using my "Child of God" union card, I-Magi-Nation (imagination) number "10"!
[For those who don't know, 10 is 1+0=1, in Qabalistic Gematria which simply means The First Sephira -!- Kether, The Above, that we bring to the Below! In other words, we don't have a goal, we are the Goal! Thus, we are Lust without the Need of result! Lust being the Divine Frenzy, that is the rhythmic vibration in all things! Like I said,"We Rock"! We, each alone, are a Tree of Life!] Let us not walk through the New Year, blind to our prosperity!

The Elemental Tarot- 10 of Earth/Desert, suggests the uncertainty of the 10's, as they are of short duration. Here a pale figure, holding a healthy green shoot of 9 leaves, walks blindfolded into the unknown future. The plant shoot with nine leaves, implies the potential for future growth.
The gray, upside down masked figure, is holding a pail which showers gold coins to the ground. This indicates past wealth being spent. The mask hides his true face, implying falsehood.
In the background is only desert, nothing else seems to be growing.

The god-name, Telepinu, is the Hittite god of vegetation.

The astrological symbols for Venus and Saturn are shown in the upper left corner of this card, indicating a combination of planetary aspects. According to the authors of these cards, Venus/Saturn combined imply inhibition (Venus) and a sense of reality (Saturn).

The Egyptian symbols assigned to this card are shown in the lower left corner of this card.
In the upper right is the number 10 and its symbol. While at the bottom of the card is the green square representing the alchemical element of earth.

When the Ten of Disks or The Elemental Tarot-10 of Earth is thrown during a reading, the querent:
  • Is assured of physical prosperity and abundance.  But being a Ten, the end of a cycle, means it may be short lived.
  •  Is at a physical cross roads where supply is stable but boredom has set in and is non- stimulating. However, the time for taking security risks is approaching and will soon arrive.
  • In the next 10 weeks or 10 months you will experience opportunities for abundance by utilizing communication, organizational and intuitive skills.
  •  That during this period of 10wks or 10 months, one will experience a better alignment of abundance on the physical plane where things seem to "go your way".
  • This may also indicate that setting up good communication with the Virgo people in your life will profit you (August 21 to September21) or add to your abundance emotionally, physically and mentally.
  • Is showing the world a brave face when one's world is "upside-down".
  • Negatively hanging on to the past because of fear of the unknown.

The Tarot of EliThe Thoth Qabalistic Tarot-Nine of Disks-Gain:
card represents gain on all levels that are physical and that influence the physical; emotional gain, spiritual gain, mental gain and physical gain.

The Nine of Disks, is hitting the mark; a bulls eye card, that shows you are financially right on the mark because your heart mind and soul are in union. In other words, you are passionately focused and have enabled gain on all levels of performance.

Astrologically, this is Venus in Virgo. Venus is beauty, love, and creative power while Virgo represents balance, order and organization. Together, the meaning is your heart and mind are in this passionately and beautifully (beauty is balanced symmetry).  The results are gain on all levels.

On this card the blue circle symbolizes  wisdom linked with our loving nature,( the pink circle), in a creative way ( which is the green circle). The 9 of Disks card also shows us that by utilizing our dynamic creative male energy (shown as the top coins with the planetary signs of Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter) we shall experience such gain.

  • Saturn is the  sign of the helmeted warrior who knows what his limits and boundaries are and paying attention to detail.
  •  The feathered cap symbol of Mars indicates that energy, vitality and assertion are a vital part of gain.

  • Jupiter, the King, reminds us that flexibility, being open to opportunity that expands our leadership skills  which are also needed to experience gain But this is only half of gain, to be complete we need the feminine power of Maid, Mother and Crone, which are represented by the lower three coins.

  1. The Maid is the youthful bare headed feminine figure that is the power of Venus and reminds us that to follow our heart.
  2. The coin with the Feminine figure that  has a Queen's hat ( Mother) is Mercury, and reminds us that communication skills and nurturing leadership skills are needed to experience gain.
  3. The feminine figure with the Crescent Moon headdress  is the Wise Woman (Crone) who reminds us that we must be true to ourselves and to be authentic in our actions.

The Moon also symbolizes both the outer world and the inner world showing a balance of inner (heart) and physical action that will help us experience gain.

The Thoth Deck Nine of Disks (Pentacles in Golden Dawn and Ryder-Waite decks) is called, Lord of Material Gain, or Gain for short.
The Planet is Venus and Virgo is the sign. Angels of the Decan are: Hazayel and Aldiah.

This card is Yesod in Assiah and/or the influence of Yesod in the Material World. Yesod, meaning foundation, in the material world this 9th Sephira's influence is very favorable for amassing things, but with Venus in Virgo, there is a lack of overt feelings accompanying this great efficiency.

This efficient amassing of material things, is shown by the design complexity of Crowley's Nine of Disks. As he states in his book of Thoth,"The Disks are arranged as an equilateral triangle of three, apex upwards, close together; and surrounded at some distance by a ring, six larger disks in the form of a hexagram. This signifies the multiplication of the original established Word by the mingling of 'good luck and management'." Which says it all for this card.
The Elemental Tarot-9 of Earth/Forest, depicts an androgynous figure floating, "fancy-free" above a carefully manicured lawn. Holding a musical instrument in one hand, and scattering golden coins with the other, this figure suggests the Goddess Fortuna of the Greeks.
In the back ground is a rich dark forest, silhouetted by the evening sun.

Two youthful figures are dancing, with arms extended, suggest admiration and the need to touch an sensually share the wealth of being. The card definitely implies gain, emotionally, spiritually and physically.

Again, the authors choose to compare the aspects of two planets, in this case, Venus and Pluto, as indicative of this card's definition. However, ignorant of true astrology, the comparison of Venus and Plutonian aspects, could mean, as the authors stated, Pleasure and the power of attraction.

The god-name, Savitri, is the Hindu king of Heaven (in Christianity this would be the Savior).
The Egyptian glyphs representing this card are shown in the lower left of this card.

In the upper right, are the number 9 and its symbol.
The green square at the bottom of the card, represents the Greek Alchemical Element of earth.

When the Nine of Disks-Gain, or The Elemental Tarot-9 of Earth/Forest, is thrown during a reading it implies:
  • Inheritance and/or material gain, sometimes within 9 weeks or 9 months or the querent is experiencing it now for those time periods.
  •  A certain amount of Integrity, skill and talent has produced material gain and a sense of accomplishment.
  • This is a purely material gain card, where talent and skill has come together in either a beginning stage of material gain or a good flowing gain  on into wealth.
  • Also, that within the next 9 weeks or 9 months there is physical gain shown by organizing things and following your heart.  You are to be dynamically assertive (electric male force) and magnetically receptive (female force) which is following your heart and what has deep meaning to you.
  • Realizing true pleasure and happiness with what one has.
If ill defined by accompanying cards, it could mean a lack of discipline in material matters and the failure that comes with it.

The Qabalistic Tree of Life and Tarot on the "Other side of the Mirror"

THE TAROT OF ELI
For everything born of stars, a shadow exists.
Every one of us has a shadow side, our conscious, a place of golden reason, has an unconscious, a place of dark instincts.  I dance as a god, in my freedom of choice and cavort as a devil in my dark intrigues.  I am beautiful as a Buddha or Christ, radiating from the Solar logos, and stalk on my belly in swamps of emotional dark secrets, held deep within my monster/ Tyrannosaurs mind; I Am the instinctual super-predator survivor who kills all that is deemed threatening.

We are the Angels "who fell to earth", all alight with plans for expanding and liberating life; we are the demon progeny of gods/aliens and "women of men", who scorch the earth for ambitious reasons based on fear of need. We are Beautiful Monsters, i.e. Nefillim.

We are the Angels of generosity, who give millions and build so that all may be fed, free and healthy. We are Demons, who invest billions and build weapons of mass destruction and who believe genocide is an answer to our self imposed misery. Therefore, we have declared ourselves the union of Light and Shadow.
The Devil and The Christ is Us, dancing in a spiral of love or disgust but always dancing. Welcome to my heart felt heaven, and sit on the throne of hell; of my self-absorbed suffering that blames the "other" for my pain.

Every tree casts a shadow and the Qabalistic Tree of Life, is no exception. On one side of the Universe, is light reflected into being; therefore a dark matter mirror reflecting image.

As in all mirrors, the "other side of the mirror" is unreflected light, darkness and therefore unseen things of dark energy/emotion, i.e. The Shadow Universe. It is our psychic Womb. For those who build their reflections in limited star light, are not of the star light, but rather of the Unlimited light that is dark, unseen; the Abyss and therefore mysterious. Is not the manipulator of clay statuary, other than clay? Is not the driver of a car, other than car?

I love, and I hate. I fear and I go where "angels fear to tread". My dark emotion "of tooth and claw" dances with the lovely light heart of the innocent. I keep both. I love to love, and I love to stalk and hunt. For to be whole self----requires light and shadow.
Through the Sephiroth of Daath ( Hebrew word meaning-Knowledge), my Soul has entered this Universe of Life and Light and has therefore "eaten the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge".  To myself, I am a shadow. I know that I shall never really ever totally know myself, for I am of the Unlimited light; as a psyche, I have no end, I am "unseen", a Macrocosm. So I must make up myself upon the stage of smoke and mirrors; a microcosm.  Therefore, I must imagine myself and then I become what I Imagine in order "to live"----can there be a greater justice? You are what you think!

Yes, I know my greatest enemy, is myself. How I define myself, creates the "self-reflection" of my thought. Thought is the "first material" of creation, and being is the "truth made manifest". I must know my darkest mind, to know enlighten mind and to be whole, I must cast a shadow.

Therefore, as a Qabalist, or a Tantric, I had to learn the darkest secrets of SELF. I had to step into the mindset of putrefaction, of death, of terror, of fear filled imagination and dance with demons, only to find out the truth of us. We are the Daemon Kings/Queens, who rule all other demons, even Angels serve us! We are Elohim of the Nefillim, who rule all that is elemental. We are either Divine manipulation of all that is created or we are devilish destroyer's of all that is before us. All that is required to be a demonic presence is ignorance; to not "know thyself"! Our own world history proves this!

The Titans that warred with the "gods" never died, they are us! The "gods" just ran off and left us to our own devices and as all who flee, declared themselves the victors!

So gleefully I dance into the darkness, as if I am the Hermit of the Major Arcana, who holds his own lantern of Son-light, and I hear the scampering of the dwellers of darkness as they flee my joyful glare and I laugh at the comedic fear of the superstitious! I AM ME---a Child of the Divine Creative. I am the Inheritor of this Universe of Image, to even believe that there is anything greater than our "freedom to be", is to not believe in the Divine's Word.

Therefore, the next series of blogs shall compare the Thoth Tarot, created by Aleister Crowley and Lady Freda Harris and the Shadow Tarot of Linda Falorio. Ms Falorio, has faithfully traveled the "tunnels of Set", "worm holes in the dark Psyche" to the "other side" of the mirror, i.e. The Void.  She has place upon card stock, what she experienced and has called it the Shadow Tarot, which began with Aleister Crowley and is mentioned in his Equinox series of books. All of which shall be gone into more detail in the forth coming blogs. The Shadow side of THE FOOL is AMPRODIAS, which will be the first blog comparison in this series.

However fanciful, or awe struck, her cards are delightfully dark, mysterious and enjoyable. In truth, I have faced many so called "demons, djinn and Loa" below and above the Pleroma (lower and higher astrals) and they all called me "lord". We are not what you think we are! Fear not and claim your Divinity-----we all are the many faces of the Divine Creative, i.e. the Child of God, and all other creations know us as "gods"/Elohim, i.e Princes and Princesses of our Divine parents.

Do you dare to find out the Truth of you?  Can you be the Beautiful Monster that you are? Or do you wish to continue to be the witless minion of "another's" ambition?
Pusillanimous invertebrates, need not apply!
For I am Dragon; a beautiful monster and I declare my inheritance!
Thank you for your comments, interest and supportive donations. May you live long and prosper!

The Tarot of EliKey 0 - The Fool card.

Fear not.
What is not real, never was and never will be.
What is real always was and cannot be destroyed.
-Bhagavad Gita

The fool is the universal principle that is associated with the state of conscious energy, that is us before and after death. In other words, the conscious state that is Spirit. Many of us know that we " have a spirit" but few of us know that we are Spirit and seek not spirituality but rather are Spirituality bringing  whole-conscious liberation and expansion to Earth anima and animus! Rather than just being assumed as being mystical, trans-personal, transcendent, ecstatic in its nature; the Fool represents the power of wonder and ecstasy that is so apparent in the very young before they succumb to indoctrination and form a "cultural identity". The cultural identity is not real so Cabalists/Kabalists/Qabalists call it "reality" which we all know as relative.

The Real is the infinite part of ourselves!
The Oriental symbol for fear is the tiger. In this card, fear is seen as attempting to gnaw on the leg of the fool who isn't giving any power to fear. He looks forward, and the tiger can't even make a dent.  The fool is the energetic essence of who we are---an unflappable immortal spiritual flow of energy consciousness that flows from the Infinite Source.  This card symbolizes the creative expression that is needed to  give birth to new  parts of our lives and to boldly take risks that are so necessary to evolutionary development!
Every card in the Tarot Deck is an aspect of THE FOOL-0.
As a Qabalistic Initiation  Path, THE FOOL connects Kether (Crown) with Chokmah (Wisdom). To the Qabalist, Kether is known as the Source of All, and Chokmah is known as Father God.

The Path of Aleph, meaning OX, is about the "flowing of Life Force and creative power", showing the SPIRIT'S aim to be that of Earth and/or Sensual Being.

Crowley symbolizes this "Holy Spirit" ( The Spirit on every level of the Tree of Life)  as a dove in the Thoth Deck Card. Crowley also called The Letter Aleph, a phallic symbol.....but then so is the Projected Will that is THE MAGUS, and one wonders if Crowley was so besotted with the Phallus, that he was unable to see anything else; However, truth be told, by reference to Sexes and sexuality do we come to the minutest glimmering of understanding about the Universe.
To even begin understanding THE FOOL, we must entertain  a multifaceted and fluid interpretation of Force and Form.

Paul Foster Case calls the Fool the Eleventh Path, in his book THE THIRTY-TWO PATHS OF WISDOM. The eleventh path is the fiery or Scintillating Intelligence, which makes sense as The Path of Aleph boarders on the Limitless Light (Ain Soph), which is "not" or 0. The Ain is Light without limit which is darkness to us who need a beginning and a end to see. So here we try to explain what can't be seen as The Fiery Darkness which is the possibility of vibration or motion and the First Perception of the One having potential for activity.

In the context of Masculine sexuality, the Fool is the Testes (represented by the three flowers beneath the spread legs of THE FOOL), and the Magus is the Phallus, as he directs active first flow from the Fool rather than potentiality doing so. However, I fear that this is a rather limiting concept of the ONE-----as the Ain Soph is 0, but then, all concepts are less than the potential for conception. The Ain, is a place of limitless energy, thus without form.

We may reason that the potential for Thought, comes from the Dark Energy as Dark Matter (The First Material). The appearance of Thought emanates Mind, which is the vessel for Thought and/or Womb of Thought Forms, i.e. The I-magi-nation, transcending all reason. Therefore, our reason, leaves us with more questions than answers.

Limitlessness is a very difficult concept! To say that THE FOOL represents the initial potential for thought which transcends reason, is about the best I can do with words.

The special reality we may touch in sleep, often gives us images that do not correlate to our mundane understanding of reality, so our dreams seem to be so much abstraction and are considered as nonsense to our waking condition. However, the Great Work (As above so below) involves the assimilation of  The Real, not a reality conceived of mundane ideas. And the Real Concepts are from "what is Not' making "What is" from Dreams of Potential- Self!

To think of the Universe of Force and Form as "God Dreaming" (Darkness Dreaming it is Light) is very difficult to grasp, and the fact that you are a "Lucid" Dreamer (Image of God), who has been given the "Power of Observation", meaning you can change the Perspective of "Things", is just about as mind boggling as it gets....and just such a glimmer of insight requires a "beyond the Mundane" understanding of Self! Therefore, our Divinity is not often acknowledge by the mundane. Too make this understanding even more difficult, our Womb of psyche, the conception of "the image of God", is the invisible Sephira, Daath (knowledge), which is the Path Where Goddess (Understanding)/God (Wisdom) meet face to face (Yab Yum) and is known as the Path of Daleth-THE EMPRESS, your Spiritual Birth Mother! We are all born from Shadow into light!
I'll end this brief dissertation on the Fool, with this: All the Paths leading upward to Kether,THE FOOL, THE MAGUS, AND THE HIGH PRIESTESS, must be approached with a certain understanding of whimsy, as we realize that by crossing the Abyss and approaching Kether (As above, so below) means the total annihilation of Self as we perceive it. This observation presents us with the irony of our attempt to grasp such esoteric and refined principles from an earthly-mundane perspective.

Often, when teaching the Major Arcana and knowing what I speak, cannot truly convey what I am saying, brings a smile, if not outright laughter to my face. To me, The I AM potential is ironically displayed as a limited conception--a Me. For the I AM, being a "Me" must never be taken to seriously, for that concept will change daily, when one enters the Higher Self.

Just remember the first law of thermodynamics; "There is only one energy that cannot be created nor destroyed, only transformed"...and transmitted. The entities of the Qabalistic tree of life both transform and transmit this Energy, that is represented as the Fool card of the Tarot Major Arcana....and the whole "you" is the union of all these transforming and transmitting entities (in physics, an entity is a "point in time") both subtly and objectively. So in actuality, you are the manifestation of the invisible Fool.

The Shadow Tarot, deals with the "other side of the mirror", where reflected light does not exist. Rather, it is the place of Dark beginnings, and its gateway is the invisible Sephira called Daäth (Hebrew word for, Knowledge). Traditionally, this is the demonic realities of Christians, Islam, Jewish and various other religions. For religions must have something evil to fight, in order to have any value.

However, superstitions aside, Daäth is the gateway to the Divine Collective Unconscious. Where there never was visible light, only thoughts and dreams of beginnings and ends.

In her bold attempt to explain her magical workings from 1983 to 1988, Linda Falorio, invented these Shadow Tarot cards to supply the code necessary to open the gates into mundanely unexplored psyche.
The numbers on top of these cards, is not mundanely expressed in "normal" tarot and therefore to read these cards as Tarot, on must subtract the number 11 from the card's number. In the case of Amprodias/The Fool, this subtraction would leave the total of 0. Which is the Fool, in Tarot Major arcana.

The methodology employed in the making of these cards was to paint the ancient magical sigil of the Qliphoth of each day-side path "as resurrected by Crowley in his Liber CCXXI. (for research, get the Gems of the Equinox or 777 by Crowley). By projecting though Daäth, the meditating student enters the "Night-side of the Tree of Life".  For further explanation, I would suggest that one gets the book : The Shadow Tarot-Dreaming with Demons , by Linda Falorio.

The Shadow Tarot Card key 11- Amprodias, is Linda's interpretation of the " Dark Stared Crawling Chaos" of the heart of matter or the Void. This is her interpretation of Zoroaster's description of "a swirling, rebounding energy that shouts out loud".
As I stated in the explanation of the Thoth Fool Card, to enter Daäth is to reenter the dark womb of our psyche, a place where the personality is shredded apart, leaving only the Collective Unconscious which houses the "idea of you". Thus the energy is shown on The Shadow Tarot-11, as lighting bolts (Tibetan Dorjes), five arms of electricity in the swirling chaos. A dark place where one leaves the rational mind and enters the Collective Unconscious through the central Black Hole of the Universe (Daäth).

The central image in the square, is the artistic interpretation  of the mad god Nyarlathotep of the Necronomicon and Lovecraft mythos. Here, the churning chaotic energy, produces "frequency", or the Music of Souls, before harmony, as if the Great Inane is surrounded by and orchestra of overactive- idiot musicians.

According to Linda Falorio, the entrance to Daäth, is filled or infested with,"nether aspects of erstwhile beguiling, fairies. Vampyres, they haunt these chasms of inner-space, imprisoning the minds of foolhardy magicians in transparent cells floating through the void like immense soap bubbles blown by the Fool of day-side Tarot."
This is great imagery for the need for caution on the Astrals, as most mediumistic Channels, are subject to just this kind of Auric Vampyre under the guise of a "master teacher". When in reality, these pretenders just want in out of the "cold" of non-sensual being and need the "living energy" of the medium to feel alive.

The Amprodias card, once Skried, sends one through the Tunnel of Amprodias and enlivens ones vibratory energy. Vitality is enhanced, giving us the clairvoyance necessary to glimpse alien forms of consciousness that reside in parallel dimensions. These dimensions operate a velocities beyond our realities, and most of us are unaware of their existence. This inner journey gives us the "magic abilities" to see beyond euclidean geometry, giving us insights into mathematics beyond our normal perceptions. Here, we see or hear the mechanics of the Divine Collective Unconscious, while still being able to observe.

The beings of parallel dimensions, do not necessarily speak in words as we know them, thus there seems to be an ability to "speak in tongues" given to the initiate. For communication is possible and our brains hearing center seems to understand the communication. I have entered the "Dark Eagle" mentioned by Don Juan in Carlos Castaneda's books, and have been torn down to a mere red dot...all was taken apart accept the original that came from the Ain. Yet I still had observation skills. I was sent back as "the Faceless Dark Goddess, called me husband" and I have definitely been changed.  This skrying meditation is not to be done by those who have not completely known the inanity of existence. For existence is I AM and has only the presumption of Self Awareness and is manifestation entertainment for the Soul who never really lives, but makes alive it's dreams and laughs at its self absorbed comedies and dramas.  Thus, it is great fun being the "I AM Me", for even sorrow is but a dream.

When experienced, Daäth releases our stressed pent up energy, releasing vitality, allowing true freedom to think, to achieve great heightened powers of perception, courage, and freedom to pursue one's will. Therefore, the Tiger, of death, doesn't disturb one's psyche in the least. We manipulate only illusion and call it "ourselves". We are the Artistic Psyche called "Spirit" and the art of illusion is our entertainment.

To reiterate, THE FOOL- 0, or Amprodias, is the initial potential for thought, transcending all reason. Thus objectifying the Upper Regions, the Supernal Triangle, is a futile endeavor. However, once we recognize the impossibility of consciously approaching the Highest Levels of the Tree of Life, i.e. The Universe, in a direct manner, we are forcibly driven into the key Principles of the Mysteries/Metaphysics  of As Above, So Below.

We begin seeing that the Below is a mirror reflection of the Above; The Divine Spirit is all we know, we breathe it, we live within it, it is ourselves. Because we know this Divinity to be "the One Energy that cannot be created nor destroyed, only transformed", we know that everything is of this One, as symbolized by THE FOOL that is the Path of Aleph or the Tunnel of Amprodias.

In the Thoth Tarot context, Aleph is attributed to Air and means Life-Breath. Just as Spirit is from the Greek root word Spiro, which means Breath and is also the root word for spiral. The One Spirit, the Holy Spirit, is then the Spinning or whirling Life-Breath. This is well known in Eastern cultures, and Prana Yamas (Breath yoga) are a major if not primary pat of all Spiritual development. The Word Prana, is the Life-Breath energy.

Now in the past, I have described the Magus as relating to "Words" (vibration), the underlying sonic of patterned manifestation. However, it is the power of breath that expels the sound. Thus THE FOOL activates THE MAGUS.
Crowley, considered Air to be a vacuum, as related to THE FOOL who is the fertile Nothingness and egg of Spirit, The Void, so too speak. The universal Egg of Spirit is known, by Globalists, to be the EGG OF AKASHA, the zero of THE FOOL, also represents this egg of spirit, and is the mathematical formula of  one Male, minus one female= 0 . Therefore, the understanding is that the Egg of Akasha, is a fertilized ovum of undefined sexuality, but having the potential for Both!
THE FOOL, is the very expression of the god name of Kether, Eheieh, which means I will be. This is the Divine Child as yet unborn, who is all potential and who is our very beginning! This is the gateway to un-manifested psyche, i.e. Amprodias.
The Tiger, "fawning about" THE FOOL'S  leg, is an archetype representing the Animal Nature as related to the Higher Spiritual process; the fear based survival thinking. The Horns on the figure represent those of Dionysus Zagreus, the green clothing is that of the Green Man of Spring, the grapes at his feet are a tribute to Bacchus, the Greek God of Ecstasy, and the Crocodile (great creative energy) a swimming at his feet in "the Nile" (Crowley quote). Images referring to the Godhead, are the dove of Venus and the vulture of Maat Then there is the triple egg shape created by the caduceus in motion, symbolizing the Ain Soph Aur (The three states of Nothing).
As you may realize, the imagery is so subjective that I haven't the space to detail it all for you. If you need more detail, and you do, I would recommend reading Crowley's BOOK OF THOTH.,  Robert Wang's Book: THE QABALISTIC TAROT and investigating the Mythology of the Ancient Greeks and Egyptians.
When THE FOOL card is thrown during a reading, the querent is in or experiencing:
  •   A state of  ecstasy and/or a state of Peek experience.
  •  Fearlessness.
  • Courage.
  •  Is completing all motion  by Faith, absolutely trusting THE SPIRIT.
  • A feeling of being protected, and that everything will work out.
  •  Being open to what the future brings!
If ill defined by accompanying cards, The Fool, is then the harbinger of folly, mania, extravagance and even negligence.

WHEN THE SHADOW TAROT-11/AMPRODIAS is thrown during a divination. It implies one is:
  • Experiencing sorrow over the cruelties of nature.
  • Feeling despair at inherent meaninglessness.
  •  Lacking perspective and humor when faced with grim reality.
  • An aloofness of mundane concerns.
  • A feeling of contempt for the unenlightened masses.
  • A detachment from everyday sorrows.
  • Feeling bored, stuck, restless yet fearing change.

Thank you for your interest, comments and supportive donations. May you live long and prosper.

THE TAROT OF ELI

The Thoth Deck MAGUS, is often called THE MAGICIAN in other decks. In Qabalisitic Tarot the Magus is Key-One, The Path of Beth. Beth is a Hebrew letter meaning House or Temple.

The Planet attributed to the Magus is Mercury, thus the winged heals on the Thoth Deck Magus.
Paul Foster Case, in his text, THE THIRTY TWO PATHS OF WISDOM, calls the Path of Beth, the Twelfth Path that is the Intelligence of Transparency
The Path of Beth (The Magus) is between Kether (Crown) and Binah (Understanding) on the Qabalistic Tree of Life, making it the transition (Phallic) path of the One undefined Energy, and the Great Organizer, Binah. Thus, the relationship that establishes the  meaning of House, that is the "dwelling place" (Womb) where Spirit resides before "falling" into manifestation.

Therefore it is appropriate to call the Magus "that which builds the House", in other words, the Magus directs and encloses the One Spirit (Spiral energy-Vital Life Force)) which is symbolized by THE FOOL tarot card.

The Qabalistic Supernal Triangle (Top three Sephiroth on the Tree of Life), is represented by Tarot Cards whose activities are only separated by a degree or less. Thus, the Aspects of the Magus and the Fool are closely linked. For those who wish a glaring example of this "degree of Separation" it is about as much as the Testes and Phallus are separated in a human male.

Scholars of the first five books of the Bible (the Pentateuch), point out that the letter Beth is the First letter, as the book of Genesis begins with "Bereshith", commonly translated as "in the beginning". Interestingly, Fabre d'Olivet translated Bereshith as meaning "At First, in principle", knowing that Beth symbolizes the "Beginning of the Beginning"; The Will of the One. Thus, it is the First Matter of the Alchemist, the Philosophic Mercury and or "First Principle". Because to create a beginning one must create an end, the Magus also represents the key polarities of creation, Life and Death. This process is indicated by the figure eight that is lying on its side (lemniscus) and or Uroboros, the serpent that eats its own tail; as both represent the closed circle of One Energy begun by the number One -Beth acting on the Zero-Aleph, THE FOOL (The Lemniscus, is the Greek word for Ribbon and  symbolizes the Act of Turning upon oneself as a Twisting or Spiraling-Thus creating Male and Female infinite circles of Force in the ONE Energy).

The Magus is the first action, because there is no Action in the Crown, until "Will" disturbs it! Thus the Magus chant of ," I am the will . I am the way. I am the wealth, I own the Day." is most apropos to this card.
[For an entertaining story of the first relationship between the letters Aleph and Beth,  i would suggest one reads the  Zohar, a Qabalistic text.]

However, even though the Magus is associated with Mercury, the Messenger of the Gods, it is not all active. In fact, it is both active and passive, as it is both that which Transmits and that which is Transmitted ( A phallus)! The Magus represents both the One Life Energy which when transmitted becomes the Prima Materia (First Matter). Here an understanding of the fact that the Magus (Mercury) is the "message bearer" of the Gods, meaning he is not Himself the Creator, only the bearer of his Will, i.e. the ejaculator, if you will. (The whole Supernal Triangle is the action of the Divine Phallus and Womb.). The Wand in The Magician's hand (Golden Dawn Deck) symbolizes this "phallic action", showing that the Magick is merely the Transmitted will of the Greater Being that is the Supernal Triangle or Trinity.

The Roman, Mercury, is the Greek Hermes and the Egyptian- Thoth, all represent the same deity, the amalgamation of their qualities having become inseparable in modern esoteric literature.
Hermes, was always associated with words, this makes sense as a messenger must simply state the cause of the one who has sent him. Then there is the Egyptian- Ibis headed Thoth, who reportedly created the Hieroglyphs, developing the necessary means by which a message could be transmitted and recorded. The companion of Thoth/Hermes, was shown as a dog-headed Ape (Cynocephalus), representing words themselves. and their potential for deception and misunderstanding. Therefore, we have the Avant Guard-Cynocephalus, included in the Thoth Deck card, laying at the feet of the Magus.

Not only do words affect the Will, as cause and effect, but they also transmit ideas from person to person in the same way that the Magus  transmits the idea of Self-Creation of the One -Kether. Therefore the Transmitted idea from The Magus, Fertilizes the ONE Womb,(Understanding) Great Mother Binah.  Just as words fertilize Consciousness! Thus the power of Words, is about stimulating the birthing of unconscious ideas into conscious images of understanding, by the Power of Expression, but not necessarily the Truth of Creation, for that Must Be Made Manifest (THE HIGH PRIESTESS)!

To reiterate, THE MAGUS is the Path of Beth (house or temple), and it transmits  the idea of Self-Creation of the one from above-known as Kether (Crown). A spoken word is a sound that carries an idea, so the Magus is associated with the "First Vibration".
The First Vibration encloses Spirit, beginning the process of creation, thus encompassing all that is.
In the Golden Dawn papers, this idea was conveyed by relating the Mercury symbol (planetary sign) to all the Sephiroth, with the exception of Kether.
You may note that the "...Horns spring from Daath", often called the invisible Sephiroth but really, it is conjunction of Chokmah (Great Father and Binah (Great Mother), a face to face union,  that creates what is  called "the Divine Child". This union is understandable, since Wisdom (Chokmah) and Understanding (Binah) conjoin in the birthing of Knowledge (Daath).
Consequentially the showing of Mercury on the Caduceus, properly places the Four Worlds,[ Atziluth, Briah, Yetsirah and Assiah --see past blogs), that are transitions of the Wand of the Magus. Kether is the Winged Orb at the top. By deeper delving into the Golden Dawn tests, the student will find that the Primum Mobile, Latin for "first motion",  is acting through Philosophic Mercury (Magus) on Saturn-Binah, who is Will to Form or as I like to call her, "The Womb with a view". As before stated,She is the Mother of Form and the Magus is the "Idea of Being" and/or Will.

The activity of first motion acting on Saturn-Binah, is words or Vibration and whoever can willfully direct the Vibration of the First Motion, (often refereed to as to "Pronounce the word-YAHVEH") Shall "command the Universal Force". This Mastery of the Universal motion, is called the "moves-Moves" among certain Native American nations, and/or the "motion within the movement" of the Mysteries. Quantum physicists would call it the "Dark energy that pushes the Universe", while Qabalists call it the Magus.

Paul Foster Case, in his Book of Tokens, stated that, "all created wills are but reflections" of the Will that is the Magus. This is an essential ideal of the Mysteries and acknowledges the fact that our Superior Nature (Divine I) acts through the Magus.

In the Crowley card, unlike the Golden Dawn card, THE MAGUS  is not holding a Wand, the primary instrument of the MAGICIAN cards; Rather, THE MAGUS is the Wand, He is the Phallus, without a human body, which Crowley understood. This Subjective Phallus, is not an object. All Objects are formed by Binah, who is Will To Form.
Victorian sensibilities has softened the ancient depictions of Hermes as the Herms, that were upright stone slabs with a bust and a very large stone phallus curiously attached to the front of the column. This acknowledgment of "First Motion" is also shown in Lingam worship of the Hindus and or the Phallus- God Priapus of the Romans.

Without the Transmitted Will of the One, Understanding of an idea, cannot become a Form of Understanding. This is a complex idea, and requires deep meditations on THE MAGUS  card, and also a release of Victorian  sensibilities, as we are describing the First SEX Action in the Universal Duality. That Action, produced our Higher Self called Daath, Knowledge, who is the Divine Child of the union of Will and Understanding; the Self Concept of I AM ME. Here, the I is the Will and the Am is the form of that Will and the Me is the manifestation of the Union.

THE SHADOW TAROT
is the "other side of the Mirror" and is key 1 of the Thoth Tarot. The author of The Shadow Tarot says, that one must subtract the number 11 from the Shadow Tarot card to get the appropriate match of other Tarot decks. Therefore, 12-11=1, The Magus of the Thoth Deck.

The Shadow Tarot Key 12- Baratchail, is and attempt to depict the Dark psyche reached by Shamans through the use of psychedelics.  Cynocephalus, the ape shown in the Thoth card, is shown dark and has deposed the will of the Magus, by using instinctual manipulation of the formative elements. These are not the elements of the Solar Consciousness but the elements of the Collective Unconscious of the Void; i.e. Dark Alchemy. These dark elements are used to dissolve ego, alter consciousness and to see beyond the frequency veils that separates the dimensions. Linda Falorio has depicted these dark elements on her Bratchial card.

The dark- fire element in the tunnel of Baratchial, is represented as  Amanita Muscaria, a toxic chemical agent purportedly used by witches, sorcerers, and shamans to aid in astral travel.
The Dark Water Element, is represented as Bufo Marinus whose toxic properties [bufo-genin, bufotoxin, bufotenine] extracted by boiling oil, are 150 times more powerful a heart stimulant than curare. This is a sea-toad extract, a toad venom, that is known to the Chinese as , "Ch'an su" and is also used by the Amazon Indians of the upper Orinoco, as a hallucinogenic snuff (nasal inhalant).

Air, is crapaud de mer, of the Dark Alchemy, is represented by the puffer fish or "fugu"  tetrodotoxin.  This is a deadly neurotoxin 160,000 times more potent than cocaine. This is the chemical that purportedly creates the living dead of zombie legend.

Earth, is the human skull and tibia shavings, both the traditional ingredients of dark preparations. This element can be seen held in the hand of the dark ape.

None of these hallucinogenics,  is sanctioned by Qabalists, as journey's into the depths of the Abyss, the Dark Psyche of the Collective unconscious, without controlled will and the hard learned discipline of focused sight, can lead to disaster. By doing certain Prana Yama practices, Tantra Yoga or "sex-magic" rituals, the body produces the proper bio-chemistry to reach willful manipulation of consciousness, safely entering the tunnels of Baratchial without negative results! It is best to skry these cards to enter these tunnels of Set, rather than apply hallucinogenics and hope to achieve the same results. For one can be overcome by the Flowing Forces of The Great Inane, and sucked into the Void of Oblivion. What fun is that?

That being said, if one still wishes to  chemically explore the Tunnels of Baratchial, one should become an attentive student of a well traveled Shaman such as Carlos Castaneda had done with his teacher Don Juan.

  • When THE MAGUS  or The Shadow Tarot-Baratchial card is thrown during a reading, it implies :
  • Communication and timing and that all things are possible, with applied Will and understanding.
  • There is an implication of the magic of Universal Vital Force traveling through the human body making one in-tune with the most creative and powerful aspects of your-Self; As above,so below.
  • Changing the structure of your living situation by focused action:  Will and focused consciousness.
  • An awareness of Power, and possession and communication  of the Powers (Focused will that fertilizes creativity in ones self and others) and Gifts of Spirit (Divine senses).

THE POWERS OF THE TUNNEL OF BARATCHIAL:
  • Realizing that the ego and the consciousness are products of bio-chemistry that are affected by the individual subconscious mind, the Collective Unconscious and the animal nature.
  • Here is the power to willfully manipulate consciousness through biochemical means, exploring unknown worlds within and evolving into unknown future selves.

THE TAROT OF ELIFor self is a sea boundless and measureless.

-K. Gibran, The Prophet

Key 2--The High Priestess (or high priest); Thoth Tarot
Key 2-The High Priestess,  is the image that represents an androgyny universal principle of intuition, independence, self-trust, self-knowledge and self-resourcefulness.
Presented on this card is the androgynous figure that represents balance known to Chinese scholars as the female magnetic force, curved , soft and receptive, that is Yin.
From the navel down, this androgyny  is all straight lines, strong, dynamic, yang. Therefore, this card reminds us that we are all composed of the receptive female magnetic and the strong assertive electric forces of male.

The High Priestess, wears a sun and moon crown to remind us that we are all are to be committed to have and achieve a equal balance in strength and softness.

The faceted crystal background reminds us of the  multifaceted aspects of intuition that are present at each level of consciousness:

  1. mental intuition (the triangular crystal);
  2. emotional intuition (the round crystal);
  3. spiritual intuition ( the diamond crystal),
  4. and physically noted information (the octagonal crystal).
Intuition is the Great calm Lake of spirit that is reflective, deep, contained and always present, waiting to be accessed and trusted. However, we must first trust and love ourselves to be aware of this quiet power.

The High Priestess is a powerful symbol to use as a visual affirmation to enhance self-trust, independence, and resourcefulness. This symbol reinforces the trusting of one's intuition.

THE HIGH PRIESTESS is the Qabalistic Tree of Life Path of Gimel which is not a literal return to the warm enclosure of the Cosmic Womb, as is THE EMPRESS. Rather, she represents the Supreme Mother, with out her smiling mask, revealing a True face of cold yet beautiful countenance.  All veils are removed, all illusion is dispersed, and we must face the crystalline reality of our own absolute free will; a task not for the weak.

Her planet is the Moon, her Path is Gimel, meaning camel, which is most appropriate, as she is the one who "carries our Personality across the vast desert of the Abyss".

There are three Paths that represent the same energy, although as different but similar aspects, they are The Paths of Gimel (THE HIGH PRIESTESS), the Path of Samekh (THE ART) and the Path of  Tau (THE UNIVERSE) which together makeup the devotional middle pillar.

The Indigo Middle Path color in Atziluth ( the highest of the Four Worlds) is Indigo, a deep-dark- water blue that suggests the Moon and all three Paths relate to the Moon.

The State of Intelligence/entity that is The Path of Gimel, will carry those cleansed of desire thinking, across the longest and most important path on the Tree of Life; A path which radiates down from the  Supernal Triangle, composed of unimaginable potential,  to the Ethical Triangle, the "actual", also making this the path a position between God the Father in Kether, and God the Son in Tiphareth, making this a Path of the Highest Initiation.

The common description of the High Priestess is that she is the most pure essence  of consciousness, symbolized in Tarot as the very source of all Water (Consciousness); However, to the initiate, she is considered the "lower Chokmah" (Wisdom), wisdom is being expressed here as both masculine and feminine (The Goddess Sophia of the Greeks-means Wisdom) When applied to Chokmah the word Wisdom is masculine, for here it is "sent forth" and as the Seed of wisdom is ejaculated, it expands outward, applying the seed of expansion that contains its own limitation.

The Feminine is Formative, here Wisdom is taken into the most Spiritual (Spiral) manifestation of the feminine and formulates it into herself as any geometrical point into which to contemplate any possibility, i.e. the All Seeing I of the Original consciousness.

Now I know this concept is an impossibly difficult one to understand and the most descriptive of Qabalistic terms may seem nonsensical, but the High Priestess is the Womb of Consciousness, but she is both Male and Female.......much like a Hermaphrodite ( Hermes-Aphrodite) that can impregnate itself. The Higher Chokmah is a Sun, and the Lower Chokmah is a Moon. Thus when viewing THE HIGH PRIESTESS Tarot card, you will see a slight feminine figure with arms raised, behind vibrations of light and a strong lower masculine leg section with the a bow across the knees. Yet she is a virginal force, because no "Outside" Male force fertilizes her. From Her, the source of Water, is the idea behind the idea of form.

I think Paul Foster Case said this best in saying that,"... no matter how many forms develop from it, the virgin substance is itself unchanged. Like Water, which holds matter in suspension or solution,  this substance remains over itself. Here is one key to the alchemical mystery of the First Matter.  Here, too, one may find a clue to the inner significance of the Virgin Myths of all Religions." [ Remaining "over itself" may also be a clue as to why Lilith wished to lay on top of the First Male Form called Adam, in Genesis and was banished from the Garden for a more complaint Eve. So the Patriarch could be in charge of sexuality. A fun and enlightening study for the curious.]

In his study text, THE THIRTY TWO PATHS OF WISDOM, Mr. Case calls the Path of Gimel, the Uniting Intelligence, because it is the "Essence of Glory" and/or "The Grace of God". No matter the terms, the fact is that your personality must be shed of all the reality and desires that our conscious has constructed before She is able to "carry One across the Abyss, into Daäth (Knowledge) the invisible Chakra of the Tree of Life that resides below Kether, on the Middle Path. It is that Knowledge that our conscious essence "consumed", so that it could become the operator of the "Image of God".
We should understand that Daäth is no longer invisible to one who has entered the Garden of inherited Knowledge that resides between the Mother named Understanding and the Father named Wisdom.
The High Priestess is often called the Prima Materia, or Root Matter (First Matter) as she can be considered the result of Self-Conscious.
Now the MAGUS, (Will-Kether), symbolizes a condition prior to "Unconscious thought".  This condition acts upon THE HIGH PRIESTESS in such a way, that the Path of Gimel  becomes the "mind" capable of carrying the thought forms (knowledge) of which the Universe will eventually be composed. Being that She is the source underlying all vibratory patterns that compose form, She is shown on the Thoth Deck Card  as a figure composed of vibratory waves of energy.
Moreover, nothing can grow in the Garden of the Empress without this wave structure that underlays energy. It is for this very reason that the Moon is assigned to this path, for it is a pattern of waxing and waning, fluctuation, dualities and tides, just as the waves of energy in a vibratory pattern. Here, the Goddess is both Force and Form, and as a Moon she controls the tides of consciousness.
Now if you wish to skry this card, remember, She is Pure Virginal Conscious and without empathy, She is as Durga the Ice Queen of the Norse. Unless you have a mentor who has been through the initiation of THE HIGH PRIESTESS, you may find her Cold Beauty destructive to your sensibilities as she strips your personality of all that is not worthy of Pure Self Conscious. She is often called the "Faceless Goddess", as the mask is the illusion of a face and all women are her face reflected in the many facets of vibration.
The Wisdom of THE HIGH PRIESTESS,  is in regulation, as Her fluctuation rates establish the direction for the "First Matter" as it descends in to greater and greater density. Thus she is THE MOON, that regulates the tides of the Waters of consciousness.
As before stated,  the four paths rising into the Supernal Triangle, each represent a Alchemical element, each a composite of the "Garden of Eden".

THE HIGH PRIESTESS, is the Uniting Spirit, the Fifth element, symbolized as the top point of the Pentagram. THE HIEROPHANT= Earth, LOVERS= Air, THE CHARIOT= Water, THE EMPEROR =Fire and THE HIGH PRIESTESS= Spirit.

Overall, THE HIGH PRIESTESS, is the vessel for all operations of the Supernal Triangle, she is the crucible where the Alchemical activity of Mercury, Sulfur, and Salt take place. She is also the source of the Four Rivers of Paradise, The Pison (River of Fire), The Gibon (River of Water), The Hiddikel (River of Air) and the Phrath (River of Earth). All of which goes a long way in describing her fluctuating nature, as rivers are often "waves of serpentine flow".
As I have mentioned before, the journey up the Paths of the Tree of Life, is about Remembering our beginning, a critical part of "Above all things, Know thyself". THE HIGH PRIESTESS, conceals within Her Vibrations, all the knowledge/memories of the Race,  as well as, those of the Cosmos.
Behind Her resides Daäth (Knowledge), invisible because of Vibratory Veils. These veils, are shown as Light in vibratory form, on the Thoth Deck Card. The Qabalist knows that it is Light that conceals the True Spirit---the one we've called "The Fiery Darkness", because Dark Energy is the True Light, as it is the substance of Supernal Potential.
To look upon the Light of the HIGH PRIESTESS, one must become Virginal in nature. For it is a Light so bright, the Virginal Vibration of light; one of mundane persona can not look upon it, and will be shocked right back into there Malkuth realm of Race sponsored consciousness. If the desire conscious is conquered, the Light of the High Priestess is welcoming, and brilliantly beautiful...but without heat thus it is a cool light resembling the dazzling brightness of Ice in full Sun or Moon Light.Passing through the "Light", one enters the Abyss of Dark Matter/Dark Energy where the only sense is the original "I" sight of the One.
Obviously, when considering Light, the Qabalist must re-think the essence of Light.

It is apparent to the researcher that all religions that stress "the Light", are based on Tiphareth-The Sun God. For instance, religions based on the teachings of Christ, Buddha, Apollo, Osiris, Ahurda-Mazda, Mithra, etc. However, the Gnostic Mysteries, unlike organized religions, states that Light conceals, rather than reveals, by its very brilliance.
As does the Moon, so does the HIGH PRIESTESS go from brilliant light to absolute darkness. Thus the Mythology of the Moon and her deities, such as , Dianna-Artemis, Hecate and Hel-Aine (Later as Helen), better known to those of Celtic origin as Elaine the Moon-Goddess. The Thoth Deck Card Shows THE HIGH PRIESTESS as Hecate-Selene (The Triple Goddess as described by Hesiod) which means "The Far Shooting Moon", an aspect of Artemis. Artemis is also known as the "maiden of the silver bow", suggesting the lower aspect of THE HIGH PRIESTESS,(The ART card), which is Sagittarius, the archer. That is why she is illustrated with a bow across her knees.
Artemis is the triple Goddess, represented as the Maiden, then the Orgiastic Nymph, then the Old Crone.  As some say, Maid, Mother and Crone.

To reiterate, THE HIGH PRIESTESS acts upon the First Matter of the MAGUS, causing it to function in the pattern of a figure eight lying on its side. This represent a total unified energy cycle of both opposed and duplicated vibration. This holding, enclosing, and duplicating  function is that of the first female quality on the Tree of Life.
Therefore,THE HIGH PRIESTESS represents what Carl Jung called the "virgin anima", related to "virgin milk" which he called the "life giving power of the unconscious."
To the inquiring mind, I really recommend one gets the book: THE WOMAN'S ENCYCLOPEDIA OF MYTHS AND SECRETS, by Barbara G. Walker and looks up the Moon Goddess Myths. THE HIGH PRIESTESS  relates a concept so subjective, that much repetition of information, in differentiating perspectives is required.

Note: to match the Major Arcane of the Shadow Tarot to the Thoth Tarot, one must subtract the number 11 from the Major Arcane Shadow card number. In the case of Gargophias-13 this would become 13-11=2. Key 2 of the Thoth Tarot.

THE SHADOW TAROT-13/GARGOPHIAS, represents the Dark side of the High Priestess, called the Tunnel of Naught/Not. This is the Great Negative often called Lilith, Lady of the Night, of Sevekh, Kefekh, Khepsh of the Seven Stars, referring to the Seven Stars of the Pleiades. Ancient Egyptian texts assigned the Seven Sisters as Krittikas, judges of men, assigning them to seven planetary spheres as the Seven Hathors. To enter paradise, the dead had to speak the names of each of the Seven Goddesses.
Classical mythology relegated the Pleiades to the May time feast of Life and the November feast of death, at opposites point of the year. The Pleiades-Seven were seen as emanations of the Moon Goddess, worshiping them at the two solstices as the Goddess of alternatively  Life-in Death and Death-in Life and who early in November, when the Pleiades set, sent the sacred king his summons to death.
[from the book The Woman's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets, by Barbara G. Walker].

Linda Falorio, has rendered to this card the image of Ur-Hekau, the Egyptian goddess of mighty enchantments. She is the red one gesturing to the stars-attendants that mark the stellar-gate into the earth-web.  Hekau's power was that of self-fertilization, feminine creation as recorded in the earliest myths. Parthenogenesis (self-fertilization) is also the power of the High Priestess.

The image of the frog squatting on the sigil of Gargophias, represents the glyph of the invading extraterrestrials form the Waters of space, that are in the vicinity of the Pleiades. According to Linda, from the portal of the back-brain cerebellum, these atavims of amphibians enter our  dimension.  By the image generating powers of the back-brain webs of dreams are spun in the Lunar Astral fluid/light. Here are generated our primitive nightmares of death, pain and destruction.
Many call this the lizard brain, referring to just how ancient this piece of wet ware is.

When supplied with our imaginative/spiritual powered life force, this are can become supercharged fear. The lesson here must be in emotional responsibility, before this psyche gate is opened. To be a personality of active or positive emotion- instead of reactive or negative emotion, makes this journey into inner psyche one of creativity power of the Divine Feminine or one of nightmare destructive power of the Divine Feminine.

When skrying this card, here is the dark energy, non-reflective power of movement in dreams (emotion, is energy-in-motion and/or movement) such as clairvoyance or prophecy. Time/space are of reflected light but prophecy defies time and defines futures. Here also resides the power to construct living souls from the substance of their own ectoplasm, as magick creativity up-wells from the inexhaustible inner core of psyche. Many trumpet mediums are dallying in this area of Gargophias. When dealing with the dark powers of the Moon, you must be the Sun of light, so that her dark seductiveness doesn't dim your light.

When the HIGH PRIESTESS or GARGOPHIAS card, is thrown during a reading for the non-initiated, the querent is  experiencing;
  • The principle of  self-trust, indicating an easily working state of harmony and inner independence;
  • A self knowing.
  • Accessing hidden Knowledge from the unconscious collective.
  • Self-sufficiency, self-trust, and intuition.
To the initiated male;
  • She represents the Spiritual Bride of the Just man (The Prince, no longer of this world)
  • When he reads the Law, she gives the Divine Meaning.
  • The Arcane is revealed, the Mystery is unfolded, an futures are seen.
To the Initiated Female;
  •  She is the Papess, associated with St. Mary Magdalene, or the Great Shakti of the triple Hindu Goddess Kali, or the Greek Gnostic Sophia, the original Mother of the Holy Trinity.
  •  Considered one of the Highest and Holiest of the Major Arcana. Complete development of Feminine Powers (Womb rite) that go deeper in meaning than the words, intuition or insight, can convey. She is the Law of inherited Wisdom.

THE TAROT OF ELII am the love of being, that creates being so that I can be love.
-Eli Serabeth

It can never be overstated that these cards or keys, represent fragmented states of conscious energy that complete our whole-self.
In the Thoth Tarot key 3, The Empress,is the symbol of the universal principle of love with wisdom; she is a symbol of our ability to extend love and receive love.

In Jungian psychology, she is the anima, the feminine nature. The moon, shown on the card, is a western symbol for the feminine magnetic nature that is receptive to the male electric nature, usually symbolized as the sun.

The blue lotus is the Eastern symbol for wisdom. She is the yin energy of the orient. Key 3 reminds us that love with wisdom is the capacity to nurture and support ourselves in equal proportion to how we nurture and support others.

All the birds represent all the mental realms of consciousness ( The Sephiroth on The Tree of Life).

THE EMPRESS- key 3, is the Path of Daleth-(emerald green path between 2-Chokmah and 3-Binah) meaning-Door, and Her planet is Venus.

THE EMPRESS, is also called the "Gate way to Heaven", as She is the transitional state of energy between  the Above and the Below. The effect of this transition is from One into many, so the key to this card is multiplicity.

If one looks at THE HIGH PRIESTESS card, they'll observe a simple diaphanous robe, that of THE EMPRESS is appropriately covered with all the jewels of creation.

As a Qabalist, I am painfully aware of the inadequacy of anthropomorphic symbolism when describing the Supernal Triangle, "the As Above", yet Tarot pictures unconsciously communicate a great deal of information, that words can only flail at. The images represented in THE EMPRESS card are an attempt to convey the concept of pure fruition.

As an exercise towards this goal of understanding, the initiate must try to conceive of pure emotion, which is a feeling which has no subject or object, neither love nor hate, but which is the raw material of both; a kind of Lust without need of result. Armed with such an understanding, the initiate may begin to understand something of the Great Binah, The Great Mother, THE EMPRESS, who is the Illuminating Intelligence or  Birth Mother  of Ideas through transitional state of Understanding.  She is Mother Nature of the Universe.
All that is Life on Earth is  also the providence of THE EMPRESS, as she builds life forms around the Spirit of Life, establishing the Laws of the Universe that have to do with restriction and formation. She is the Supernal Female Force. She is also Venus-Aphrodite. the Goddess of Love; Love is the Law. The Luminous Intelligence of Chokmah, becomes the Illuminating Intelligence of  THE EMPRESS, inferring filling up and emitting Light, thus bestowing the title of Mother of Light on the Great Mother.
She is a Door, and one may pass through a door in any direction, to pass through Her on the Return Path, is to pass into Supreme Darkness, that is stressed in the Shadow Tarot. The  dual dynamic of the Door, has often been shown as Janus, the Roman Two-Faced god, each face looking in opposite directions. In fact the Latin word janua means door and this god was stated by the Romans, to have presided over communications and the affairs of men. Here then, as THE EMPRESS, Janus resided over the passage of ideas. Originally, Janus was a Solar Entity, and THE EMPRESS is the Mother of the Sun, so the comparison is not only viable but pertinent as well, so anything that can be said about Janus can be said about THE EMPRESS  as well, even though she is anthropomorphized as Venus-Aphrodite.

When entering this path the pyschonaut experiences the Luxurious Proliferation of Nature  with each facet so compelling, being both beautiful and hypnotic, it is possible for the student to lose sight of the Overview of the Path of Daleth. This point was acknowledge by A. Crowley in his Book of Thoth, where he warned,"..the student who is dazzled by any given  manifestation may be led astray. In no other card is it so necessary to disregard the parts and to concentrate upon the whole".
We know that the Venus-Aphrodite is the "Goddess of Love' but many forgot that She is also named the "Goddess of Desire". Desire, being born with the most abstract principle of Form, holds a very specific meaning for the Student of the Mysteries, as to feel is to desire, but to unite wholly with the Universe, requires the "want of nothing". Thus, the coming to or the leaving of desire is another aspect of the Door Way that is THE EMPRESS-- Path of Daleth.

THE EMPRESS as shown in the Thoth Deck card, looks to be all nurturing and light, however, the darkened crescent of the Moon suggests transformation or change and to Qabalists She is known as the Mother of Life and Death. Growth and destruction are concurrent Empress- activities, just as old cells die and new cells are born in a daily cycle in your physical body. There is also a Shadow side to lust, desire and intense sensuality, as expressed in The Shadow Tarot card 14-Dagdagiel.

The transparent bubbles shown in front of the Thoth Empress image, represent the veil that we must pass through to realize the Path of Daleth (Door), to pass beyond the veil is to cross into a completely new level of conscious energy, where her laws of love no longer apply. The veil is a dramatic separation of imagined reality and what is Real.

By now, the able initiate knows that God is the Mind that created the Universe by dreams of Self- thought. We do the same thing, as "images of god", we create reality by imagining it. Whatever we create in our personal minds, becomes. This is an often ridiculed concept or precept of both metaphysics and the mysteries. However, ridicule does not an understanding make, and as a Personality attains greater Self-Awareness,  the implications  of responsibility for what one thinks become most profound!
The Thoth Deck Empress, is  illustrated in the alchemical image of Salt, that is the inactive  principle which is  activated by the alchemical Sulfur (Emperor),  maintaining
the whirling (Spiral) balance of the Universe. The design of the Alchemical symbol of Salt, is , a circle with a line bisecting it horizontally, as is  shown in the positioning of her arms and if you put the Empress and the Emperor, side by side, her on the Left and Him on the right, there faces are looking at each other. This is Yab Yum, illustrating the Tibetan word that means , Goddess God, face to face, as well as, the activating activity; sex.

The twisted blue shapes represent flames and her birth from Water, which we know to represent consciousness. The Living Holy Grail, is the Lotus like chalice in her hand. At her waist is the  Zodiacal girdle or belt, above her head are the dove and sparrow , both are  birds of Venus.  At her feet is a white pelican that is feeding her own young with her own flesh which is a common symbol of the Great Mother, for even not so great mothers, build the young from their own flesh.

The white eagle shield corresponds to that red eagle shield of the Emperor.  To reiterate,The alchemical references for the Supernal Triangle are, THE MAGUS is Mercury, THE EMPRESS is Salt, THE EMPEROR, is Sulfur. Thus Kether is Mercury, Binah is Salt and Chokmah is Sulfur, the Sephiroth united on the Tree of Life that turn our leaden consciousness into the Golden Intelligence of the Son (Sun), i.e. the Divine Child. The only blocking veil to this end, is Desire consciousness.  We must lose the reality of the  "I Wants" known as "Wanna-Be's" and become the I AM's of our original inheritance.
As always, words make the reality of their meanings seem so simple, but in truth, the simplest words are the most subjective, such as IT, or I .  One must cross the emptiness of want, of sense, of sight, before one can visit the Great Mother, who creates the Am of us all.

The Shadow Tarot of Linda Falorio14/Dagdagiel (remember you must subtract 11 from The Shadow Tarot number to get the comparable Light Tarot card number), displays the Dark side or Shadow side of this 3rd state of the Collective Unconscious.  She has fashioned the Tunnel of Dagdagiel (tunnels are paths) as an oyster shell, representing the masculine sexual prowess. Yet we all know that oysters not only represent the shape of the female sexual organ but also smell of sea salt, that is a very feminine  sexual scent. Thus, the inseparable maleness and femaleness of the Supernal Triangle is also represented here.

Without is depicted the chaos of a spider-web, where the web becomes a network of "infinite corroding light", whose interstices are black holes in interstellar space or trans comic vortexes in the void of the Dark Unconscious that suck us unawares into the "Twilight dream time", as the author calls it. It is obvious the awe of entering this dark desire tunnel has permeated the consciousness of Linda Falorio. For she goes on in throws of awe, dashing words about almost chaotically, trying to describe this extremely sensual experience, that defies description.

You see, Dagdagiel is the sensually debauched aspect of the Dark Venus. The ancients called her the white sow or the Tibetan Phagmo Dorje. This state of the unconscious is a type of wallowing, mired in erotic orgasmic delight and insatiable; constantly consuming, her own creations, that erupt from her desires. That is why I cautioned the initiate who enters the inner Path of Daleth (the door) they must be free from desire, or she will consume the desire personality.
But to go on, Linda Falorio compares this shadow side of the Empress, to Maat (and many other destroyer goddesses) or "the gate of the aeon of Maat, and High Priestess of the Mysteries that bows to no man". She seems to be overcome with awe of this Great Feminine Principle of the Unconscious Womb of consciousness. I too felt great joy here, and she called me Husband and treated me to her orgasm, but in truth, we bowed to each other--Face to Face. This is the place of the "Big Bang" (no pun intended) where insatiable desires lite up the universe.  This state of deep inner dark Unconscious, left me clean and "keeper of her property" (the meaning of the word Husband).
This goes to show you, that each of us has our own sensual experience here, and each of us must return to rational states of being, as Crowley warned.

In a ring of fire, are shown the crawling images of a scorpion, snake and spider (not easily seen) which are symbols of Serker (Egyptian Lord of Death), caster of the first circle and weaver of the first web (first ejaculation).  The Egyptian-Serk or Serker, was considered the "Black Sun enclosed in the Earth's Womb", at the bottom of the underworld, in a secret pyramid filled with "the blackest darkness". Interestingly Serker is also the title of the phallus at the point of "dying", sending forth seed into the dark. Again supporting the lust-filled sexuality of this psyche-Tunnel of Dagdagiel. Somewhere, the word beserker was formed from this and describes one who has lost his mind to a furious insatiable desire to kill.

These shadow cards of Linda Falorio are splashed about with ancient god/goddess names in an awe filled attempt at description. I would recommend that one separate one mythology from the many here, so that they don't get lost in the swirling dance of too many descriptions.

One seeks the powers of Dagdagiel, in order to experience drunkenness of the senses (Bacchus) where the world is aglow with colored lights (Aura seeing). When one is seeking mastery of the green ray of nature (the colored path of Daleth) with the possibility of communication with and co-operation with the Deva's, (Ka-Dro-Mah, of the Tibetans). These "serpent headed" deities ( the divine feminine that is of many faces and in charge of Vibration or Spiral flow) are not for the lust-filled child, that most men are. Here degradation of Womb-man, is not tolerated and the "seed" belongs to her darkness.  Here also, are sexual prowess and fecundity  ( I had to get a vasectomy!) placing one within communion with all life (I called her Grand Mother River, the serpentine flow of all life), the ability to expand and liberate life from self imposed limits. Here is the power to merge with all life, peoples, races and cultures. The mind floods with the realization of the Divine She as "Everything I see is another way to be me." becomes conscious reality.
You know you need to enter the realm Dagdagiel, by skrying this card, when you feel joyless inside, and where life's simple sensual pleasures allude you.

When the Thoth Empress or The Shadow Tarot-Dagdagiel card is thrown, the querent is experiencing:
  • The principle of  wise love.
  • The power of  owning your own  inherited  maternal and loving nature that resides within.
  • There is an opening to all sensuality and delighting in luxury of the senses, as does a child, before they are taught to fear them.
  • One finds comfort among the natural, having no need of control.
  • A surge of Creative imagination, as imagination is everything in our reality, this promises achievement and success in our goals.
  • The querent may experience a high dedication to healing and nurturing. All in all, THE EMPRESS, represents happy, stable, relationships, growth and fertility. We are reminded that the power to give love and receive love comes from deep within us and is our natural inheritance from the Divine She.
  • The negatives here are generated unconsciously by seeking  oblivion "when seeking the kisses of Nut"  (Egyptian Great Mother, a personification of the Night sky):
  • Lack of discernment and judgment.
  • Physical and moral dissipation.
  • One ignores danger, when seeking sensual desire, such as not wearing a condom, ignoring the danger of AIDS. Or over drinking, eating etc.

THE TAROT OF ELI

Ok, I have been asked, "Why the Shadow Tarot?". "What advantage does this have?" Etc.

So before I go into this Tarot card comparison, I shall do a little historical explaining.

Many people think we are the offspring of Angels. So let me explain Angels to you. The earliest Angels were of Hindu origin and were heavenly nymphs (Hindu apsaras) who dispensed heavenly bliss through sexual acts. To the Vikings these sensual angels were called Valkyries, the Greeks called them Horae.  The Persians carried on this tradition by calling them Houris, or Peris (fairies). A guardian angel is/was called a personal Shakti, who watched over a man and took him into her ecstatic embrace at the time of death. To the Tibetans they were called Kha-Dro-Ma, representing the "highest state of Female".

Hindu angels were primarily for sexual union, love-making and were rare mothers as they had no menstruation,  pregnancy, birthing,  or nursing. The child just appeared as a miraculous birth, at the age of Five years, on its mothers knee. (this idea did not originate with the Virgin birth of Christianity).
Apsaras/angels, could
copulate endlessly with the gods, without loss of fluids, or energy; they were the perfect dispensers of erotic delight and amorous bliss on a divine scale.  Such a being was depicted in the bardic romance tale of the Holy Grail, the queen of the Grail was an angel who was a "Dispenser of joy". The Holy Grail was a euphemism for the Divine Womb or Vagina of such an Angel.

In the Bible, where biblical angels were "sons of God" who came to earth to beget children on mortal women. [Genesis 6:4]

Latter, these divine begetters were called demons, or incubi, or fallen angels. The book of Enoch blamed women for the angels fall, etc. {Get the book-The Women's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets, By Barbara G. Walker to find a easy look up of the facts!}

So all in all, we believed to be the offspring of "fallen Angels" or Daemons as the Greeks called us (Greek word used to describe angels, gods, saints, genii, fairies etc.). We are the offspring of Out-law angels/ Demons.
Therefore, our inheritance comes from the Dark Side of the reflected light side of the Universe and/or "the other-side of the mirror".
Now I know from personal experience that these "Guardian Angels" exist, for one has been in my company not only this lifetime, but in many and calls Herself Elizabeth (Hebrew for: Chosen of God.) I also can go through the Gateway of Daäth, with the ease of someone who was born there and am called "Lord" on the other side. [See past blogs for more info on this
"invisible Sephira" on the Qabalistic Tree of Life.]
So the truth of our inheritance is that we are GMO's of multidimensional intercourse. The offspring of Alien life forms and mammalian life forms. We can break the rules, thus we have freedom of choice, and can create as gods. All of which is apparent to those who study history.

In Western Tradition, Angels were the upholder of or enforcer of The Christian god's laws. In other words, they couldn't break the rules. Out-law Angels, would break the rules, and are now called Demons.  We are the Demon King's and Queen's, sons and daughters or the Princes and Princesses of our Royal parents. If you don't think we are demonic, than read history again. Then read quantum physics which states that by observation alone, we can make electrons, the very particles of creation, act as we choose to believe.  We are Demons, beautiful monsters, as I call us. and we have inherited the Universe!

However out-law we appear, The Divine Creative wished us to be, so that entropy, the second law of thermodynamics, can be overcome by constant and irrational creation (creation that breaks the rules)! To break the laws of physics, you need out-laws and that boys and girls, are us! So therefore, we are The Shadow Tarot of the Night side of Dark Energy and Dark Matter, who have come through the Tunnel/wormhole of Daäth and into the Light side of the reflected light universe, where Self Reflection of the Psyche becomes Image!

To this day, we can't stand to be ruled, and every government ever created falls to the wrath of rebellious out-law people!
Don't take my word for it, look it up! Do research and stop being the manipulated dog-child of
ambitious-demonic men who wish only to profit from your enslavement of mind, body and soul.

We are the Out law Angels of the Divine Creative; outside the law so that the Universe has an immortal future rather than one doomed to destruction by the second law of thermodynamics, which is: All things proceed from order to disorder. We are dragons, out-law creations of Angel and Beast, filled with the Dark Fire of our Spiritual Home.

Instead of order, we create disorder, and then organize it through means of evolutionary thought, much like scattering the pieces of a puzzle across the table, then systematically fitting the pieces together. We come from the Shadow side of the Universe and have created Light side code, i.e. Light side Tarot, that organizes the fragmented chaos of our Selves and creates fertile, fecund, ever expanding Life! I think we are the coolest out-laws ever! And I thank the Divine Creative for the opportunity to be! Since we are in the "image of God", and/or children of the Annanki which is Sumerian for "Those who from the sky came", we bow to no other image of god, for that would be idolatry!

So now you know why I compare the shadow tarot and the light side tarot. One is our invisible inheritance code and the other is our creative spirit light side code that allows us to "above all things, know thyself", and thus evolved beyond our out-law parents.  Tomorrow I'll compare Key 4 the Emperor of the Thoth Tarot and key 15-Nemethterith of The Shadow Tarot.
These are histories that your rulers
don't wish you to know.

THE TAROT OF ELIFirst of all, I wish to thank everybody for the comments pertaining to the Shadow Tarot Series. I have spent 1 hr and 1/2  of this morning, answering them! Please accept may best regards for your daring and bravery to think beyond the box !

The Thoth Key 4-The Emperor. The Principle of personal power and leadership.

The Emperor symbolizes the the totality of  spirit-fire. Aries, the Ram, behind the Emperor, is the fire sign and represents  exploration, adventure, curiosity, and initiative.

The sun rises behind the Emperor, as a symbol of the natural source of light. He is the animus--masculine energy-- and/or Zeus, of Greek Mythology who is the father or patriarch. In the Orient, he is the yang energy, which represents  dynamic, initiatory power.

The bees on the cloak  shows that he realizes that all leadership requires vision. The Fleur-de-lys, the three -petaled flowers on the bottom of this card, represent royalty and effective leadership that requires heart, mind and spirit in flowing balance.  In Shamanic and/or pagan societies, the essence of spirit has been  symbolized as fiery energy.

THE EMPEROR-key 4, is the Path of Heh (means-Window) that runs between Tiphareth (Beauty-the Solar Logos) to Chokmah (Wisdom-Lesser Creator who rules over manifestation) and is known as the Constituting Intelligence (Paul Foster Case-text of Thirty two paths to wisdom).

Because of our Divine Inheritance from the Demiurge (Lesser Creator) and the Great Mother (Binah-Female aspect of the Demiurge) we are  all the "Shades" of consciousness. Modern psychology has called these Shades of Consciousness, the Unconscious, the Sub-conscious and the Consciousness which just about every elementary school child has heard of. However, hearing of a thing is not knowing the thing, as all of these Shadows of Mind are fragments of the Divine Collective Unconscious. Because of the evolution of  subjective thought, from Mythology, to fundamental Religions, and now to the modern science of Psychology, we are beginning to easily deal with the shades of consciousness within ourselves and are experiencing abilities to make order out of the fragmentary chaos of our Self; a New Age (The Age of Aquarius) of enlightenment.

The Higher we realize ourselves on the Self Tapestry of the Tree of Life, the more the student understands that the Trump or Cards of the Major Arcana only point the way towards understanding concepts that the mind cannot otherwise grasp.
By beginning to understand the next Five Trumps/Paths, [THE EMPEROR, THE EMPRESS, THE HIGH PRIESTESS,THE MAGUS, THE FOOL], the initiate will be developing the consciousness of the Horus----the 22nd century human.

Because of Modern Physics, we know that there is only One Energy that cannot be created nor destroyed, only transformed (and transmitted), and the student of the Tarot knows that all the 78 cards of the Tarot deck represent Transformations and Transmissions of the One. From the One, emergence the opposites, which are activating the formative; Male (Electric) and Female (Magnetic) in communion. Thus it is accurate to state that all Male figures are Chokmah (Jah) and Binah (YHVH Elohim) is that of all Female. The robes they wear, represent the different planes and/or dimensions of our mufti-verse, which are actually vibratory-transmissions  or frequencies that are either Force (male)-Kether or Form (Female)-Binah, and/or their intertwining of vibration (The Divine Union of Goddess/God) with in the "idea" that is I AM- that makes all things possible.
The Qabalist knows that the "Big Bang" came from what is the Source, Kether, thus the ejaculation of Energy, making the Kether male.( Male is not a sex here, but an action). The One became Two, Androgynous, whenbecame Am , which is known as Chokmah and Binah, which should be stated Chokmah/Binah, just as Yin/Yang or Time/Space are known to be inseparable and established at the same moment. Thus, with some authority we can say that the I is male and the Am is female, for one is Wisdom (Chokmah) and the other is Understanding (Binah)...and we can't experience one without the other!

In the Tarot, THE FOOL represents the One Energy,   THE MAGUS and the HIGH PRIESTESS, are the Macrocosm into Microcosmic,  first differentiation of Male and Female energy polarity. Pure Consciousness, known as the "root of Water" is represented by the HIGH PRIESTESS and Her consort,  THE MAGUS, is considered psychologically as the Will. Thus the term I Am, is understood as the intercourse of consciousness and will. Like I've said before, I AM is your Real name.
The mating of the HIGH PRIESTESS, to the MAGUS, is described in Robert Wang's book: THE QABALISTIC TAROT as, ".....the activity of the directing Will of the One on the Great Ocean of undifferentiated consciousness which It has Itself projected {Big Bang]  ( The bracketed words are my own). Here we think of the reflexive qualities of God; God creates, idea/thought, then the mind/understanding to hold that thought. Therefore we have the concept of the Universe as a Mirror, where everything is the perception and activity of the Divine Spirit on Itself; a process which the various and varying symbols of the Tarot are attempting to suggest.

The reason Crowley has positioned THE EMPEROR , so that the body forms a triangle and a cross. is because he is representing the alchemical symbol of Sulfur. This representation is because of the Alchemical explanation of the  Divine-Self Interaction in terms of Sulfur, Salt and Mercury.. In Tarot, Mercury is THE MAGUS,  THE EMPRESS is Salt and THE EMPEROR is sulfur. This may seem as little more than obscure abstraction: However, when we consider that THE MAGUS, (Philosophic Mercury) acts upon THE HIGH PRIESTESS (Pure Consciousness) and by Union they are transformed into THE EMPEROR (Sulfur) and THE EMPRESS (Salt), we are actually considering the quite basic attributes of our own consciousness.

THE EMPRESS is on a Path of Daleth (meaning door) which is above the Path of THE EMPEROR, simply because without her manifestation of form, he would have nothing to rule. On the Path of Heh, the Emperor is a transformation of the MAGUS (Will). Basically, when we are classifying images according to color, subject, or other criterion, we are calling THE EMPEROR into play.  As does THE EMPEROR,we are acting upon form. Another way to see this exercise of rule, is that if the subconscious didn't send up form from its depths, as a stream of images to be classified by the differentiating exercise of reason, Will would have nothing to control or transform. Thus THE EMPEROR, albeit a potent masculine force, functions as determined by THE EMPRESS.
It can not be overstated, that THE EMPEROR is the Path of Heh and its function is determined by Binah who is pure fruition.

The Path of Heh, is a formative path of rational and classifying activities. It's bright Red color is that of Binah (The Great Mother) in the World of Pure Spirit known as Atziluth. Albeit, that the male and female forces are seen as more interwoven the lower levels as we go down the Tree of Life, the assumption that Chokmah and Binah are the only "Pure" states of Male and Female force is in error; As Chokmah(Wisdom), meaning the primary quality of maleness, is a female noun. Taking the point of view that whatever gives birth is exercising a primary female quality at the moment of birth, then all that is inherent in the male is inherent in the female and visa verse. We can see this principle by understanding that the Creation of Chokmah, gave birth to maleness, and femaleness.

The students of Carl Jung know that he stated the "male harbors the perfect female image in his unconscious, as the female harbors the perfect male image in her." unconscious", these being the "counter sexual component" necessary for the transformation of force and form. Jung also called the "counter-sexual components", the Anima (female) in males and the Animus (Male) male in females. The Anima, means soul (a type of Womb) in Latin and the Animus is Latin for spirit (a type of Phallus). Thus we can see that THE EMPRESS is Anima  and THE EMPEROR is Animus, making the perfectly developed male type on the Paths THE EMPEROR and the perfectly developed female type, THE EMPRESS.  These are the pure intelligent forces that we meet and actually converse with on the Paths. If we think of the One as a Human Brain, albeit a simplistic comparison, then One has become two, female and male in One Intelligent organism (The Tree of Life) on the Path of Heh.

Since the Sun of Tiphareth is in the sign of Aries, which is the sign of This Path, indicates that THE EMPEROR exercises some control over the Solar forces of the Higher Self.
Thus, we have the term Constituting Intelligence meaning that THE EMPEROR assists in the building up of Light of Tiphareth from the utter-darkness of Limitless Light of the Supernal Triangle; The Shadow Side(see past blogs). This Path of Heh, could also be considered as  the "start of Time" in infinity.  In the Thoth Deck card, this importance of Tiphareth to THE EMPEROR is illustrated by the Sun behind his head and the overall two colored scheme of Martian reds and Sun yellows. These two colors also suggest a furious/"divine frenzied" rush of  often short-lived activity.

In the Qabalistic text-Sepher Yetzirah, the letter Heh is a simple word meaning, sight. This is well represented in THE EMPEROR, since he is the "Fiery Aspect of the Garden of Eden" of which the Higher Self relates as a Self-observation of the One. It is the first path that is attributed to a function, suggesting that sight is the first of the senses, as Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac. This Path of Heh, THE EMPEROR, is what I call the First "I" sight, while the EMPRESS is the "Am" of understanding (an inner sight I call a "Womb with a view")...Together they are the "I AM"., the Counter Sexuality of the One Mind/Energy. Therefore, the Path of Heh, is the First active "I", or the "all seeing eye".

All this contributes to the understanding that the Constituting Intelligence is the first phase of a natural cycle, such as Aries  bringing  forth Spring. This understanding is shown as the lamb at the Emperor's feet and the Ram headed wand. Paternal Power is shown by the bees and Fleur de Lys. The two headed Eagle in front of a crimson disc that is on the Emperor's shield, symbolizes the Alchemist's red tincture related to the Sun and Gold. There is a similar eagle on THE EMPRESS card that refers to the Moon and Silver.

As suggested by the author of The Shadow Tarot, by subtracting 11 from 15, we get the Key 4, of the Thoth Emperor card.
Below the number 15, are represented the star steaming breasts of Hemethterith, and between them is the astrological symbol for the Dog Star; Sirius/Sothis. Often called the beast-child Set or The Sun behind the Sun, by the ancient Egyptians.  Viewed as the Opener of the Circle of  the year at helical rising, first marker of cycles and as the Red Thoth Emperor is, so is Hemethterith, the creator of time.

Depicted, are streams of "mind stuff" or "first Matter", forming into peacock eyes of the "All Seeing" I.  The Peacock Feather was a sacred symbol for the the Egyptian Goddess Maät, who judges souls after death. However, even earlier the Yezidi of Sumer, held the peacock feather sacred to their Dark God.
By standing in the south, the Yezidi, faced north and gazed worshipful at the Ursa Major constellation to which the Pole now points on its precession through the ages.
All of this is abstractly presented on this Shadow Tarot card. Ursa Major, used to be considered the starry night sky of Nu, or Nuit, dark creative goddess of the Egyptians.
According to Linda Falorio, this card depicts the ancient Myth of the Goddess Yemorja, of African Yorubá mythology. A  Ocean-mother goddess, patron of pregnant women, she had one son named Orungan and 15 Orishas (these are "Lyrics" or Vibrations or what Linda calls "Trans-cosmic Orgone streams.). Anyway, there is along history here and Linda Falorio goes into an awe inspired use of many mythos here to explain her card. However, the Africans believed that all life came from Yemorja and called her "Mother whose children are like fish." In other words as plentiful as the Stars in the Milky-way, which was "mother's milk that flowed from her breast". All this can be viewed on wikipedia.org.
Therefore, the many Eyes (I's) and flowing stars of the Shadow Tarot card.
However, this card is expressing the Arcane of the Emperor card and nothing is new here.

When we enter the Psyche Gate of Hemethterith, the psychonaut gains  "stellar vision" and form a sensitivity to the Harmonic Convergence of cosmic cycles that accelerate human consciousness, as they are known in the Divine Collective Unconscious. In other words, will really accelerate the intuition derived sensitivity to planetary frequency necessary to become a good astrologer, Auric seer and placing one "in tune" with creation; hearing the "Song of the Stars".

Here, in the tunnel of Hemethterith, we find the copulation of frequencies that cause the harmony of being. The Universe becomes known as energy in constant copulation and a bright realization that the Universe of material frequency is nothing but a manifestation of cosmic organismic bliss within the Divine Collective Unconscious. The Dance of Shakti and Shiva is that of copulation, and their rhythm cause ripples in the One Ocean of Energy, that becomes us all. Here is the "Honey Moon Suite" of the Divine Feminine and Masculine; where electric and magnetic dance to become a electromagnetic spectrum of life.

When THE EMPEROR  or The Shadow Tarot/Hemethterith card is thrown during a reading it emphasizes:
  • The Principle of  Personal Power and Leadership.
  •  Building a pure base of Knowledge while remaining open minded, pointing towards success, authority, stability  and ambition in gain or achievement.
  • Self realization of Life Force and Personal Power.
  • It mirrors to you  your own creativity, leadership and able responsibility.
  • Like the element of fire, you are warm, nurturing, electric, dynamic and vital in those activities that appeal to you as well as challenge you .
  • This is an important symbol to meditate on in order to visually implant a model of how to use power and leadership in ways that expand and liberate yourself and others from self- perceived weaknesses and becoming an actively divine creative force.
  • If ill defined by attending cards, the querent is up against :
  • a dominant boss, or authority figure (s)  who sets rules, boundaries, definitions and analysis.
  • Supporting belief systems of sacred and profane, stating that we can never know the sacred and that bodies are profane or that all mundane is not holy.
  • Scientific materialism, lack of inspiration.
  • Lacking spiritual ideas.

The Shadow Series: Tarot Card Comparisons: Thoth key 5-The Hierophant and The Shadow Tarot key 16-Uriens

THE TAROT OF ELIKey-5 of the Thoth Tarot- Trump is the Hierophant, which is the universal principle of learning and teaching. This principle was well explained in the  publication of the-Course in Miracles-"As you teach so will you learn." If that is true, and it is true indeed, do not forget that what you teach is teaching you."
Therefore to teach requires us to have  faith in ourselves;"above all things know thyself" is often forgotten in family situations and in the mundane world of survival.

The family situations are represented in the Thoth card by the images of Isis and Osiris and Horus (The dark lady Isis, Osiris is The Hierophant image, and Horus is the child within the star/pentagram). By presenting the Hierophant bright and large, and Isis dark, small and very nearly unseen, Lady Freda Harris illustrates the fact that the Brightly lit Day-side Universe is but a dazzling reflection of the Dark Fiery Shadow-side. For a more mundane illustration;  the male Phallus is easily seen, all proud and erect while the Womb, it's mother, is Dark, unseen and mysterious.

In pre-Christan times,
  1. Isis was the image of Intuition.
  2. Osiris, the image of  wisdom; this union can also be seen as the scepter of wisdom and the staff of moon which also known as representing instinct.
  3. Horus represented Perception and Vision, as a child born of Intuition and Wisdom and in the new-age, represents us.  Therefore, we are the children of Intuition and Wisdom who are to be the purveyors of perception and vision.  We must have faith in following our childlike abilities of innocence and curiosity (the child in the star) We are to walk the mystical path with  the practical feet of the Magus.
The Hierophant is that inner part of ourselves that knows how to express our divinity into the outer world.

THE HIEROPHANT- Key 5, is the Qabalistic Tree of Life Path of Vau (Nail or Hook). It is the 16th path,  on the Tree of Life. leading from Chesed (mercy) to Chokmah (wisdom) and is known as the  Eternal Intelligence.

The Path of Vau is the uppermost path on the Pillar of Mercy (Right hand Path). In the Golden Dawn texts, this path is described as, " The Zodiac acting through Taurus upon Jupiter".  Here, Chokma/Mercy is Jupiter, and his action is the spermatic potential of the Manifested Universe Chesed, the Yod of Microcosm (Microprosopus), who is the The Father in Manifestation while Chokmah (the Yod of the Macrocosm (Macroprosopus) is the Supernal Father.
Therefore, the Path of the Hierophant is a powerfully masculine one (Electric Force), to which  the Bull-Taurus is applied and image definitively applied to this card, Being "Fixed Earth", this is a stable foundation; a stabilizing extreme.  Therefore the Shadow side of this card must be equally powerfully Feminine. A concept that Linda Falorio shows nicely in her card key16-Uriens.
Here lies the  absolute foundation of the process of revelation....where the inherited Knowing of the Creator; where THE Great Father is expressing It's experience through the Supreme Spiritual Self to the Personality or Ego of Tiphareth (The Sun/son of Beauty). Thus memory is involved and the solid foundation of "Above all things, Know thyself" is established as an Universal Inheritance for the Divine Child.
The meaning of the Hebrew word Vau, is nail or hook, implying a nailing together, or binding, and links the Macrocosm (The Great Universe) and  Microcosm (Manifestation), and/or The Greater Self to the lesser Self of matter, forever linking us to the Divine Spirit.

THE HIEROPHANT is related to teaching, which relates Higher ideas into Lower organisms that is often called, "As above so below". The Hierophant is a state of conscious energy that is the Only source for our understanding of the inner Spirit/Spiral energy conscious. Therefore this "Magus of the Eternal" is stated by Paul Foster Case in his text," THE THIRTY TWO PATHS OF WISDOM:, as being the," ....Pontifex, the 'bridge maker'  who provides a connecting link between outer experience and interior illumination."

Thus, the Hierophant gets the discriminating experience of the Body-operating-Personality, while teaching that very same Personality it's inherited Divinity. (You may experience this when you correct yourself about a thought.)  Thus,The Hierophant can be said to "Learn by Teaching". Therefore, the Eternal Intelligence  can be called "Life" and the Reasoning behind manifestation and implies that a teacher who learns from his students, is a great teacher.

Crowley's main concept was the "grounding" of the Fifth- Key-, using the corner symbols of the Four Kerubiim (Guiding intelligences of the Four Elements) as the tentative expressions of the primordial Elements of Kether (Crown) that are passed down to Chokmah as the Sphere of the Zodiac. Interestingly, we think of the Zodiac as 12 signs, but it is really four ternaries, where each element is broken down to three signs. To the Qabalist, thus relates  to Yod (hand) Heh (Window) and Vau (Nail).

The Administrator to the emerging duality that is Chokmah (Phallus -Womb, male-female, electric-magnetic) is the Hierophant and it given form or structure by Binah (Great Mother)  which begins as manifestation below the Abyss (Dark Energy and Dark Matter) in Chesed (Mercy). Thus relating to Tiphareth (Beauty-Synchronicity), the central point of manifestation. This relationship is shown in two ways, first as the letter Vau, which is related to "The Son" (Child of God), and  Tetragrammaton and the second is the number six itself is related to Tiphareth. Crowley shows this by the Pentagram on the chest of the Hierophant as the four elements are combined under the fifth element-Spirit, thus forming the 5 pointed star. The Pentagram image, confirms the Great Work known as "As above, so Below", a process in which the symbolic Moon always  is a key part. For the Moon is both above and below the Sun on the Tree of Life, as it is both implied as  Yesod (Foundation) and is the Path of the High Priestess and is exalted in Taurus.
Let us not forget that Taurus is also ruled by Venus, referring us to the Empress, the Path of Daleth, between Chokmah and Binah. THE EMPRESS is Mother Nature, and/or the fertilized Universal Consciousness that is the foundation of the HIEROPHANT'S teaching.
THE HIEROPHANT'S teaching is intuitive, as it is on the "feeling" side of the Tree of Life  ( Venus-Netzach side), applying intuition to concepts collected by reason and built up by memory. I would recommend you meditated on  this card.
The Shadow, or "other-side of the Heirophant card is interpreted by Linda Falorio as key 16 (subtract 11 from 16=5) Uriens. Here there is a Powerful Feminine Yoni/gate to the Dark Collective Unconscious.

Referring once again to the African Goddess of the Ocean, Iyemorja, the Great Mother of fish, the inverted pyramid design imitates her vulva pointing into the Womb of the Abyss.
Okay, this may sound overly dramatic, however, the Source of all Psyche, is in the Dark Womb of the Universal Collective Unconscious; a kind of Sea that produces consciousness/fish. Iyemorja, Isis, or even the Lion headed goddess Sekmet, can faithfully represent this side of the Hierophant.

The serpents writhing around the abysmal point of the vulva triangle on the Uriens card, represent the Gorgon's serpent/arms ready to grasp the  light-consciousness and pull it into the Dark Psyche.
Therefore, I would not be remiss in stating that this Shadow Side of the Hierophant is indeed a powerful Female presence to his powerful male presence. For the Dark Inner Psyche is the Womb of all outer worlds, ideas, and consciousness. Our consciousness, as are mortal babies, was born from a dark, wet, and solar (male)warmed Womb.  Our Soul "sweats" consciousness from the inner heat of The Sun and the Moon union. Here in the Gate of Uriens,"... is the deep, mesmerizing power of the Yoni to exalt the Phallus" (Linda Falorio, From her book: The Shadow Tarot, Dancing with Demons).
The swirling designs in the northwest corner of this card represent remnants of the sacred Labyrinth, as the senseless, confused,  and convoluted paths of those who sought but failed to find the Hierophant; easily done if one seeks to rule by such knowledge. These false prophets belong to the reptilian instinctual brain, whose fears, become perverted by the Solar Consciousness of Tiphareth or Son of God. From such mad mouths, comes fundamentalists, zealots, and fanatics who think that they have the right to rule the actions and thoughts of others. Coming from this unclear state of Psyche is a terrible, devouring state of ego-mind that believes everything it thinks and sees threat in everyone that really does think.

In the Southwest corner of this card, is the jackal headed throne of Samael or Set, covered in the sacred designs of the African kingdom of Mali, the home of the Dogon peoples, who are proclaimed to be the keepers of the secrets of the extraterrestrial Nephilim from the Sirius star system; our "fallen angels" of biblical fame. Upon this throne sits the Elder Lilith, (our dark Mother of the Nephilim who can also be a Wife if she calls you "husband") wearing goggles, helmet and baring the strange devices of Dogon-priests. Lilith is often shown as the illustration above, sometimes with a raven (the bottom of the Uriens card) or an owl, but always with a serpent.
Dare I say it? This is an awe filled way of describing the Powerful Feminine and Masculine presence of this state of Psyche. Here Instinctual consciousness was born and ejaculated into the Day-side Universe. From Dark Energy (Father) and Dark Matter (Mother) was born our Dark Fiery Spiritual I (he) AM (she) presence in this "Reflection of Me" or the Day-side of Shadow and/or the unconscious side of dreams.

The illustrations on the Uriens card, go on to show a Shaman, wearing the mask of Samael (Satan) beseeching her for strength and power and protection for initiation into mysteries of Horus-Maät.  He is dangerously imitating her husband and She may return him, but she will consume him, this is a very Oral-Yoni- Gateway! Upon consumption she may discover the pretense, if so, this Shaman will never return. For to be Her Husband, She is all that exists for you!

This is a dangerous initiation of imitation into the Divine Feminine that is the Dark Psyche of the Collective Unconscious, since "There is no god where I AM" or as the ancients Gnostic's stated, "There was no father god, till she named him father." (Gnostic text, Thunder the Perfect Mind); therefore, no ejaculation necessary to send you back into the light. The decision is hers, birth-er of your consciousness, whether to absorb you or call you lover; re-gestate you and send you back... forever, hers to bed.

The powers or magic abilities achieved by successful meditation on this card are:
  1. The ability to ground oneself in self-validation (she reinstated you!)
  2. Here is found the courage and inner strength necessary to live by one's convictions even against the promptings of cultural indoctrination, "common sense" (which I find most uncommon) and "better judgment" of your peers.
  3. The ability to face the sorrow, naked-horror of being alive bestows on you, even though being stripped of the childish notions of divine protection. Able to shoulder the suffering of life and dance innocently, in full trust, of the righteousness of our individual path, because you are full filling your purpose by being You!
  4. Humbling our reception to divine inspiration.

When drawn in divination the Thoth Hierophant and The Shadow Tarot-Uriens, card indicates:

  • The desire for self-teaching and learning.
  • The need to make things tangible and practical.
  • The search for meaning, revelation, the search for truth.
  • Belief, trust, and illumination.
Negatives:
  • Intolerance.
  • Presumption
  • Esoteric arrogance
  • When experiencing the negatives, our inner Hierophant is perverted and one needs to enter the realms of Uriens, by meditation and skrying either on the Thoth Hierophant card or the Shadow Tarot-Uriens -Card, it's all about personal preference; When doing so, you are daring to be cleansed of all that is not "worthy of her divine child" and never certain of returning to the Day-side Universe .

The Tarot of EliThe Oracle of the Gods is the Child-Voice of Love in Thine own Soul; hear thou it.
Heed not the Siren-Voice of Sense, or the Phantom-Voice of Reason: rest in Simplicity, and listen to the Silence.
-Crowley

The Thoth Key 6- The Lovers- card's astrological sign is Gemini and is about the joining together of the female yin and the male yang. The magnetic and electric forces joining together to create a greater Self.

This card represents the universal principle of the art and craft of relationship. This is about the Duality of the Divine couple---Goddess/God and everything about this card is dual. This is thejourney of the twins, a universal motif found in all cultures; Hansel and Gretel, Raggedy Andy and Raggedy Ann, all the famous couples throughout history  reflect this archetype of the Lovers.

Here is a card is about love and relationships and reminds us that we are to be joyful and innocent in love (the two children on the Thoth Card) while exhibiting curiosity and playfulness; the adult couple facing each other remind us of loyalty and commitment.

The Hermit image in the background reminds us of the need to be alone and granting the gift of spaciousness  for the purpose of individual contemplation, introspection and inner self meditation. All parts of balanced and flowing Love.

The Iron gates in the back ground symbolize the Lovers' need not to be limited, bared or restrained in their relationship.

In the Text, THIRTY TWO PATHS OF WISDOM, Paul Foster Case called THE LOVERS, the Disposing Intelligence. The complexity of this card can barely be presented by the image on the card, and is even difficult to understand as a disposing intelligence.
THE LOVERS, the Path of Zain,  runs between Binah (understanding) and Tiphareth (Beauty) and connects the Pure Conscious, from which all forms emerged (Binah) with the central point of Manifestation (Tiphareth).

The Term Lovers, seems simple enough, yet it is a complex and profound card, as it is not just about the love of two humans, but rather the Twins or duality of the individual united in pursuit of Divine Love.
Therefore, the true meaning of Key 6, is embedded in the Astrological sign Gemini, The Twins. The Dual intelligent Forces of Male and Female, (electric and magnetic), are what THE LOVERS proposes to unite. These are equal and opposite Intelligence that must be united as a major step towards the Godhead on the Tree of Life. The surging of the Divine One Energy, across the Abyss into manifestation of formed stable dualities.
The Great Work, is a return to the primeval state (As above so below) by the communion or "marriage" of these dualities of manifestation.
As Robert Wang wrote about the Path of Zain (meaning; sword or armor) in his book: THE QABALISTIC TAROT," Thus this path may be considered the aspect of the Garden of Eden, from which mankind was expelled, but to which it may earn re-entry by conscious dealing with what has been called the inner Sun and Moon. The whole key to the Great Work is  uniting of the Sun and the Moon under Mercury (the planet ruling Gemini)."

On the Qabalistic Thoth Tarot Card, THE LOVERS, The Sun is the man, the Moon is the Woman, and the Divine Fire that is above the Abyss (The Vital Force or Serpent Force), is represented as Cupid. Case has stated that, the Sun is self-consciousness and that the Moon is subconsciousness. Paul Foster Case, considered  that these are both aspects of the One Life Breath, each working half of the body. Today we know them as the Male half and the Female half of the human brain. As Case has stated,"When the Solar and Lunar currents of the Life-Power are rightly perceived, rightly discriminated, and when their operation is kept in proper order, the personality of the man engaged in this practice becomes a free, unobstructed channel for the outpouring of the cosmic life force."   Case considered THE LOVERS card to represent  one of the dualities united by the Spiritual Self. Just as most Tantric, and Gnostic practitioner's do. To the Qabalist, The Lovers, represents the union of manifested opposites under the Divine Love of the Supernals (Upper triangle of the Tree of Life) through Binah---The Great Mother. Thus, the Crowley Thoth Deck Card depicts the theme of union as and Alchemical "Hermetic Marriage" of the component parts pf the seeker.
This is an active path,  for the self control and will attributed to Mercury, which directs the movement and integration of opposites. Mercury is not passive, in fact, it is linked with the fiery force or the Serpent Force known as the Kundalini which is masculine fiery force, united with the Feminine Watery force (flowing in waves as "serpentine:) both in equal measure and full of fiery dynamic,  and inspirational qualities. Therefore this is a red-hot marriage, complete with Honey Moon and resulting "little death" .  All French aside, there is a  type of death here, as the process of crossing the Abyss means the death of one's own Higher Self; it's a willful and  total self-destruction and immersion into the Divine.

I'll leave you with a quote form the Gnostic Text, The Gospel of Didymos Judas Thomas where it is written  that Jesus answered his disciples with: (22) " When you make the Two One, and when you make the inside like the outside and the outside like the inside, and the above like the below, and when you make the male and the female one and the same, so that the male not be male nor the female female;and when you fashion eyes in place of an eye, and a hand in place of a hand, and a foot in place of a foot, and a likeness in place of a likeness; then you will enter the kingdom." Jesus obviously knew of the Principles attributed to THE LOVERS  card, but then he was a Nazarene Gnostic Master which is a Qabalist...the Word Christos is Greek and refers to the  Sun!

THE LOVERS and THE ART card of the Thoth Deck Tarot are amongst the most difficult to understand. The Path of the Art Card is Samekh ( Meaning-Prop) which  requires a complete integration of the Personality in its subordination to the Ego (whole-self) in Tiphareth and the Path of THE LOVERS  is Zain (Sword of Armor) requires  a complete integration of the total self, manifest in the Microcosm; returning the soul to the aspect of the "Garden" or Macrocosm, from which it emerged. Therefore, we can say that Art is the equilibrium of the Lower Self and THE LOVERS, is the balance of the Higher Self.
In Crowley's card, we have the Royal Marriage of opposites, presided over by the hooded figure that is both the Hermit and Mercury. Eve and Lilith are shown above the couple, with cupid aiming an arrow, symbolizing will.
The Black King wears a crown of gold, bears a lance, and is attended by the Red Lion, while the Kings black child holds the lance in one hand and a club in the other.  The White Queen, crown in silver, is attended by the White Eagle and her white child, that is interchanged with the black child, holds  flowers in one hand and the bottom of the Grail (Graäl) in the other. The Product of this union, is the Orphic Egg, that is the very essence of Life itself.

The symbolism of the two children, has been noted by Crowley as Cain and Able, which may seem out of place in a card called THE LOVERS;  However, the process of The Marriage is both reciprocal and repeated over and over again as it is defined by the infinity sign of  Mercury-Magus; the Sun and the Moon unite under Mercury. First one"Brother" dies, being absorbed into the other than there is a return to a  balance of opposites  after which the second "Brother" is killed and absorbed into the first.

Theoretically, return to the Godhead requires that we incarnate repeatedly, in the twelve signs of the Zodiac, reaching perfection in each of the  types of incarnation.
THE LOVERS card also relates to the Hermetic Marriage, or "Chemical Wedding", as written in the 17th century in a text called,:The Chemical Wedding of Christian Rosenceutz which is one of the key documents of Hermetic-Qabalism. I've found this alchemical text very readable, much like a fairy tale, and yet one of the most profound piece of esoteric or Gnostic symbolism ever written.

The fact that the word Sword or Armor (Zain) is the word meaning of this path and that blood is spilled on this path, are all reconciled  and/ or reinforced in this text. This understanding requires some meditation on the Alchemical text.

"Here then beneath the winged Eros is youth, delighting in the one and the other. He is Asar [Osiris] between Asi [Isis] and Nephthi [Nephthys]."
 Aleister Crowley, Liber CCXXXI

"The 17th Path transmits the influence of the Lovers. Its tunnel is sentinelled by Zamradiel who is evoked by vibrating his name in the key of 'D'. The sound should be accompanied by a hoarse cachinnation ... "
"The sigil of Zamradiel is composed of a lunar crescent pierced by an arrow shot from a bow, both ends of which terminate in the letter G. ... the vehicle by which the crossing is achieved ... the letter of the High Priestess ... "
"The 17th kala is thus strongly charged with the atmosphere of Daäth.."

                                  Kenneth Grant, Nightside of Eden
THE SHADOW TAROT KEY 17-ZAMRADIEL,(Remember you must subtract 11 from the Shadow Tarot Card to get the proper reference to the Thoth Card)
combines many myths, as Linda Falorio strains to define what only awe understands. In the abstract art of this card is depicted two spirals that represent the eyes of the Death Goddess Hinenuitepo, mark the entrance to the Vaginal shaped tunnel of Zamradiel from which No-man returns. Hung from this sigil are the lovers, priest and priestess of the Double Current, Androgyne and Gyander, who are about to undergo the Ordeal of the Abyss.

According to the myth, the priest and priestess have shed their last drop of (green) blood into the Cup, the symbolism of which means that all of themselves is released to this dark place. Then Linda switches to the description of the Sumerian Death Goddess Eresh-kigal, her existence being deep within the earth. Eresh-Kigal is the underworld counterpart to the Babylonian Goddess Ishtar; comparable to Nephthys in Egypt, Persephone in Greece, Kali-Uma in India, and Hel in northern Europe. In the Sumerian Myth, she had a male consort called Nergal, whom Christian mythographers later demonize as a demonic official of hell. So the potential to lose all meaning to this card in myth abounds. So let us just state that to enter the Tunnel of Zamradiel (Qabalistic Shadow Path of Zain) is to loose all forms of human consciousness , as it is devoured by the Divine Collective Unconsciousness that is "The Abyss".
The author states that the cup (little dark green skull)  is fashioned from an archaic skull of a human from 250,000 to 500,000 years before modern mankind; representing a time "when the stellar races first came upon the earth". I am assuming this means "Those who from the Sky came" or Ananuaki, as the people of Sumer called them. The golden sigil that this skull rests on is that of the ancient priestess of Voudoun (Voodoo), Ayizan, here invoke for protection and inspiration during the dread Sabbath, which Choronzon (bear of the way into the city of the pyramids) presides.
One has to remember that fear of death, is the Dark Side of the Mind.
And in order to purge ourselves of this limiting conscious state, we must dive into the depths of the instinctual unconscious and meet our demons, and have a cup of tea together.

In reality we have nothing to fear, as we are the Life and Death of our own creations, of which the human body is one.
We are of Infinite light, therefore dark light, and before it can exist in reflected light, our creations begin in the Dark Matter of the Collective Unconscious. We are of the Qabalistic I AM; the I being the "all seeing eye" and the AM being "The womb". Together we have a "womb with a view". Yet it exists, but is not alive. Infinity, can't live. So to be a  "Golden Child" (one made of reflected Star light), we must create a "Me".  Me, is life. Now we have the divine trinity of I AM ME. How spectacular! But there is a caveat here, for if you allow "others" to become your will over the body, through indoctrination, pleasure/pain training, etc., well then you aren't you.

So we must journey back through the Abyss to cleanse ourselves of all that is not worthy of the Divine Child of the Goddess/God.
The Tunnel of Zamradiel is such a path to purity.

Many of us forget we are Daemons (Greek for "God-Man", latter called demons by Christian revisionism) and are the Demon Lovers...a combination of Cain and Able, of Alien races, and mammalian peoples. On the genetic experimental Land of Mu, we became the Humans of today. Lemurian expanded into Atlantis, and human beings, six root races, were develop so that our Alien state of Multidimensional consciousness  (The Divine Collective Unconscious) could reside here on Earth.

Earth is a paradise, just look around this Solar System, no planet compares to this beautiful Womb. You and I are now the invaders, the gods (ancient astronauts/scientist) ran off, or just adopted a human form. Their experiment works!  But there is a "fart" in the music of this wedding ceremony, and that is the Instinctual Mind of the Earth is based on survival, i.e. fear of death. All is about eating and not being eaten. Very Alien to our "inner self" which is of the Alien geneticists. Propagation of life, expanding and liberating it from self-imposed limits, is our inheritance making us Technology bound creators. We call this creative action, Love. Therefore, the Lovers card and the Shadow Tarot card-17-Zamradiel are about returning to our very inner abyss, and reclaiming our multidimensional-conscious inheritance.

For not only does The Great Dark Mother, cleave away all that we think we are, she restores what we really are, and we are NO-MAN!  For we are Daemons, Nephilim, Titans, and/or the Divine Inheritors of All that is our Divine Parents.

When THE LOVERS or Zamradiel is thrown during a reading, it is stating a principle:
  • Of  Art and Craft of Relationship.
  •  What is also suggested is the  magical image of the power of surrender in which one form is given up in order to attain another.
  • Being involve in a process of cooperation.---combining energies for a common goal.
  • Yin Yang attraction of polarities, or universal forces for one another.
  • The power of sexual surrender to the Goddess within.
  • This card can also mean a love affair with some sort of trial or choice involved... be it marriage or profane love.
  • There is the Tantric Philosophy here also, only through physical union with a female can either a man or god, achieve true reality and the power to deal with it; A Spiritual/ sexual union, is required for shamans, priests, and holy men with the female is required before they gain full possession of their powers.
  • This is also a process for Priestesses, who must be able to invoke the "Divine Phallus" through the Male before they can gain their Powers inherited from the Divine Hermetic Marriage.
  • Communion with a remote strata of consciousness, that includes trance channeling.
  • Here the Animus and Anima become One in love of Being.

THE TAROT OF ELIKey- 7: THE CHARIOT

Motion or change and identity or rest are the first and second secrets of Nature: Motion and Rest. The whole code of her laws may be written on the thumbnail.
-Emerson

The Chariot represents the Universal Principles of change/movement combination of stillness-activity: of movement and repose.

Every individual is touched by change multidimensional in their areas of Earth, Air, Water and Fire, as symbolized by the four pillars, the four wheels, and the four animals. These four elemental aspects of ourselves combine to create who we are, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

The spinning disc in the hands of the charioteer, symbolizes the wheel of fortune (The Womb of the Goddess Fortuna) that we have free-choice and can choose fortunate, positive, and abundant changes for ourselves.
The ten crystals on the golden armor represent the ten powerful positive choices of the Ten Sephiroth on the Qabalists' Tree of Life.
The crown, which is "the crowning achievement", wisdom, understanding, mercy, severity, beauty, splendor, victory, foundation and kingdom. These ten states of conscious energy are multidimensional movement and repose that are known as "Our Greater Self".
When this card is thrown during a reading, it generally means  that a new force is dissolving old forms. This is a time for clearing out, moving beyond the past, beginning with new energy and taking full responsibility for the past. This is a time of supreme magical power and self mastery. But as always, this blog is too short for a more profound explanation of this Powerful symbol of Self movement and much more study is required.

THE CHARIOT Key 7, is the Qabalistic Tree of Life 18th Path of Cheth on the Tree of Life, the word Cheth means enclosure, or fence. Therefore, it is the 18th Card of The Shadow Tarot, representing the Qliphoth, or Shadow/Night side of the Day side Tree of Life. As I often say it, the Dark Energy/Matter side of the Reflected/Light side of the Tree of Life.
In the THIRTY TWO PATHS OF WISDOM , Paul Foster Case stated:  The Eighteenth Path is called the House of Influence ( by greatness of whose abundance the influx of good things upon created beings is increased) and from the midst of  the investigation the arcana and hidden senses are drawn forth, which dwell in its shade and which cling to it, form the cause of all causes.
Obviously the Shade Case is referring to is the Shadow side.
Between The Fifth Sephiroth- Geburah (Severity) and the Third Sephiroth- Binah (Understanding)  the Great Mother on the Tree of Life, runs the Path of Cheth. This is the highest and most profound Path on the Pillar of Severity (left side) and introduces the Personality to the Supreme Spiritual Self, that wraps our Soul in the Golden Armor of Protection so that the Psyche can be carried through the un-manifested Universe, and/or Dark Matter and Dark Energy. The Chariot is the enclosure that holds the Soul in a state of peace, as moves through all planes.

In his BOOK OF TOKENS, Paul Foster Cases stated this about the Chariot:
I am the hedge of protection
    Enclosing the field of existence
     In this field thou dwellest,.
    And I am thy defense,
Against the darkness which is without.

Yet is this hedge of safety
  Alas a wall of limitation,
And the darkness against which it defendeth thee
Is the radiant Darkness of the Limitless Light.,
                                               Too brilliant for thine eyes.
The Darkness that Case refers to is that of the Limitless Light of Kether, the very pinnacle of the Supreme Spiritual Self.
Pictured in the Chariot, the experience of the Spiritual Self, is known in Alchemy as  the "Exhalation", where the Alchemist becomes the Philosopher's Stone.

The Thoth Deck Chariot, shows the influences of  both the Hindu Tattvas and the biblical text of Ezekiel with its "living creatures" being represented as 4 Sphinxes pulling the Chariot. These Four Kerubiim (angelic beings) represent not only the four Tarot Elements of Fire, Water, Air and Earth, but also each has four sub-elements, as do the Tattvas, and are represented as the four faces of the creatures.

Geburah, is often symbolized with a Pentagram, or five pointed star, that has the Four Elements crowned by the Spirit. Thus, making 5 the number of Geburah on the Tree of Life.  Geburah is a Red Force, and is symbolized on the Thoth card as Red Wheels, meaning that the force of Geburah (Severity) is the  motive force of the Chariot.

Geburah is complimented by Chesed (Mercy) on the Tree of Life, and this compliment is seen in the constant usage of the number 4, Chesed's number. We have Four Sphinx, and four columns  (Four Universal Elements) holding up the starry canopy or heavens of Binah (The Great Mother- Empress Card key 3). Theses four elemental columns are called the " four columns of the Tree of Life in a Solid Sphere", adding a little more of the arcane to this card.  I suggest the curious student gets the book, THE QABALISTIC TAROT  by Robert Wang, as it is a fine text for understanding the Arcane.

Above the Golden Armored figure is a crab, symbolizing the sign of Caner. Woven into the canopy is the  word "ABRACADABRA", which Robert Wang thinks is an apparent pun on "ABRAHADABRA", a word that Crowley called,"one of the most important key numbers of the Liber Al...the word of the Aeon....the cypher of the Great Work", which when using Qabalistic Gemtria (numerology), (Book 777 of Crowley) adds up to 418.
Crowley understood that something martial is going on in the Psyche of the Seeker themselves. Much like the Bhagavad Gita,  where the pursuit of enlivenment is symbolized by warring factions. On this highest Path of Severity, the Soul Warrior of Geburah has reached a pinnacle, as shown by the Tens stars on his golden chest that represent Assiah or Matter. Seated in meditation, with the Holy Grail in his hands; the Cup (Womb) that we look directly into.

The  movement of the Chariot conceals a mystery (arcana) of great significance. The Chariot is reminiscent of the Greek Chariot of the Sun, Helios, as the four horses of the Sun pulled the Chariot of the Sun across the sky. This is significant as a representation, since the Chariot moves between the Light, centered in Tiphareth (Beauty) and the Supreme  Darkness of the Limitless Light at the hidden side of Kether (Crown). Yet, there is even a more complex meaning suggested here, as the Sun is guided by the Moon! And in both Greek Mythology and the Qabalistic Tree of Life, the sun is subordinate to the moon.
Since the Chariot is of the  sign of Cancer, that is ruled by the Moon (and in which Jupiter is exalted), the Charioteer follows this philosophy of subordination to the Great Mother nicely. The cardinal Path of the Moon, leads from Tiphareth (Beauty-Solar Logos) to  Kether (Crown) is the Path of the High Priestess.  Water (Pure Consciousness) takes precedence here and is represented by the Moon.

The Chariot is a Higher Path card, and requires much skrying, meditation, and arcane study, so this author recommends that you devote more time to this card than a brief blog. At least, get the books I have recommended in this blog and read them liberally! What is also noted here, is that the Male-Female relationship, is represented backwards here in our reflected world. The Male Force of the Universe is Subservient to the Female Force in order for Force to become Form. Idea/Wisdom (Chokmah) is subservient to Understanding (Binah), for Life to progress. There is much to consider here, if one wishes to "Know thyself!"
Now for the Shadow cast by the Solar Warrior of the Chariot.
The Shadow Tarot-key 18 (shadow of the 18th path of Cheth, meaning Enclosure.)
Here is depicted the Graäl or the Yoni, an often used symbol for the Dark Matter or Dark Mother.

There are fangs of a Vampire shown here, as souls or "Astral Entities" that pause outside to drink of the "pink" are addicted and supposedly suck the life-force of the unwary who dare to attempt this Tunnel into the Dark Matter of The Divine Collective Unconscious. However, if you approach this Tunnel of Characith with the "blazing Armor" of the solar warrior (as shown on the Thoth Card), this will not happen. All the Solar one will hear is the skittering of claws as the Vamps run like hell! So I would suggest that one achieve union with Tiphareth, the Solar Logos, before taking this dark jaunt into the Psyche.

Therefore, we have represented on this Shadow card the pink flesh of the yoni gate of the Mother, entrance to the dark womb where Dark Energy and Dark Matter, join in a powerful rhythm of immortality which according to the myth of the Holy Graäl, the elixir within provided. As the old joke goes, "all men are born of the womb and then they spend their entire life trying to return to it."  As always, there is a lot of truth in humor.
Our Psyche was born on the "other-side" of this Universe of light. Many of us feel, that we don't belong here or don't come from here. Not because of some psychosis, but rather because we aren't from the evolutionary process of animal here! We are "those who from the sky came", or their progeny who have inherited the psyche of those ancient astronauts.  Deep within we know we are a type of "mutant", a Genetically Modified Organism, whose genetic material was mated to "Angels" who ran genetic experiments here.
Let's face it, this place is hard, and still voracious, and many of our psyches wish to return to "home" which over time has become Paradise in our minds. Truth be told, going to heaven, is the religious way of saying returning to the heavens. But to do so, we need to travel through a "black hole", a Tunnel of Set, called Characith. Sounds good, but in truth, you'll be sent right back, with more "divya Sidhis" (Magic abilities) and/or cleansed senses that give you the insight as to why you are here.

In general, our Spiral Entity Parents
saw a Universe through a dimensional hole and it was dead. This Galaxy didn't show high sentience life. So in they came, and invaded, terraforming/transforming life as they experimented with Dark Matter and Light Matter, until suitable bodies could be made to harbor their intelligence (its all coded in the DNA). So buck it up  and ride that horse partner; get with it, we are here to EXPAND AND LIBERATE LIFE FROM THE CONFINES OF ENTROPY!  What may excite you is that we are a combination of Negative (anti) matter and Positive Matter. Our Psyche holds this precarious balance and if it goes extremely out of balance, we loose the precious magnetic bottle, of our etheric body and Whoosh! We flame up and disintegrate.
I think this is called "Spontaneous Human Combustion".
You may note, animals don't do this, only humans have been recorded in going Whoosh! You see Animals are from here. We are From the Qliphoth, the Dark Energy, Dark Matter Universe, and scientifically bonded to this positive matter universe. But the bonds are held by Psyche in the state of Love. Lacking self esteem is not recommended!
Our "human aura" is not human, it is No-Man, an egg shape of dimensions of Dark Fire/Dark Sun.  But I digress.

The symbolism of the card goes on to explain Linda's vision. Shadowed within the Yoni is the symbol of the God Set, of the identity of the Phallus with Kteis (Kteis is a Greek word literary meaning shell or vagina -as opposed to Phallos- and it is commonly used meaning Great Mother or Goddess.) Here we have a prostrate and yoni, representing the Divine Androgyne.
The Orphidian Serpent is shown , curling about the sigil, with extended forked tongue licking up the Gaäl elixir.
The Two red suns, represent the "two suns of the upper and lower horizon", symbolic of the Blood Moon and "black Sun". It has been suggested that this is a subliminal reminder of a long lost planet of two moons. After all, we came from a long lost planet.
The rampant symbols go on as a turtle which supports the Universe, a crab, and a whale representing blissful denizens of the fluidic Astral world  where magics begin.
There is also a wheeling bat, representing dark desire and delight. Also, leprous hands hold open the Graäl gate, inviting us to drink.

Okay, there really is a lot of suggestion of repugnance here, but then the animal mind is fearful of the unknown, and as long as it is sutured to our Alien psyche, images of fear will show their little nocturnal heads. To "dive into the Graäl" is my greatest pleasure, as would be of a Solar Phallus and fear is left on the earth.
The Powers of Characith are:
  1. the abilities to take what one needs to ensure survival, at any and all costs.
  2. Boundless energy, creativity and endless youth.
  3. Bestows personal sexual magnetism, on anyone will choose.
  4. To see all as bliss, and accept mindless ecstasy.

If you don't feel these things, then there is a need to go to this Dark Yoni tunnel of Characith. Skry both the Thoth card and the Shadow tarot card, by switching them back and forth. This way the Solar Warrior "within" is shown his Hearts desire and go forth!
When the Thoth or Shadow card is thrown during a reading, the querent is reminded:
  • To devote themselves to the combination of activity and quietude so that they may have the drive to attain goals.
  •  It is a time of clearing out the past, moving beyond and beginning with new energy while taking responsibility for one's present condition.
  • There is a need for victory here, by combining the images or content of the unconscious with the consciousness for the purpose of achievement.
  • The Chariot also signifies that the querent has begun controlling a situation by the force of their personality....a focus of Will.
  • The goal will need fighting for, but you have been granted the energy to win it!

The Shadow series Tarot Card Comparison: Thoth Tarot Key 8 - Adjustment & The Shadow Tarot Key 22-Lafcursiax

THE TAROT OF ELIThe Thoth Key 8: Adjustment/Justice; The Universal Principle of balance: Justice/ Realignment.

The mediator, adjuster, and the arbitrator.  What you put out, you get back! Every thought, every action is returned to you----this law is active for you as long as you exist. There can be no greater justice nor greater balance achieved in this world of action and reaction.
This card points out that thinking ill we become ill and by thinking well we become well. That it is smart to do unto others what you would have done unto you-----because it will be!

The Thoth card uses the symbol of Libra, the scales and within the scales are the Greek letters, Alpha, representing beginnings, and Omega, representing endings or completions. Adjustment is also known as Karma in Eastern teachings; therefore we must finish what we begin or we will be doomed to repeat it! The diamond image around the being symbolizes the piercing of illusion and delusion and represents truth and negotiation.

The Egyptian figure represents Maat,  the Goddess of Law, Truth, and Justice. The circles represent formulate thoughts or ideas. Therefore the Thoth card also represents  the integrating, balancing and synthesizing mind which is often expressed in writing , research, engineering and design.

The Ace of Swords is also on the Thoth card, pointing downwards indicating  the application of creative ideas in tangible ways.
As stated, Adjustment, is at work continuously in the above, The Greater Universe, and the below, our individual soul/personality.

In many other Tarot decks this is Key 11 Justice. Whether it it is numbered, 8 or 11, this powerful, natural, equilibrating function occurs in our bodies as they balance nutrition continuously to maintain proper operation as power tools for Spirit.

Adjustment is also an equilibrating function that occurs in our personalities, making sure there are no constant extremes of behavior that keep us from operating effectively in our environments. In the Personality Adjustment is done by natural force and reason.
Upon death or during initiation, the Soul is measured when it "stands"in the Divine Light of the Solar Logos, that is Tiphareth, the sixth Sephiroth on the Tree of Life; often called the "Christ Light". Only in this Light (bright and warm intelligence) does the dual-edged Sword of Geburah, do its work; pruning away the perspectives which are not worthy of Her Divine Child.  The image of Maat as presented on the Thoth card,  is a suggestion of the Maat legend as the "Daughter of Ra", relating her to the Sun God (Tiphareth-Solar Logos). Her Qabalistic name is "Daughter of the Lords of Truth" while the Egyptians also called her the "Queen of Heaven".. all of these names pointing to the fact that this Severe Faithful Intelligence is the regulator of the Path of the Sun; as the Egyptian texts suggested, through Maat the Sun subsists, for Ra is said to "rest upon Maat" and/or to"live by Maat".
In Qabalistic terms, "to live by Maat" means that the principles of  the Path of Adjustment maintain Tiphareth---The Bright and Warm intelligence  of the Solar Logos. Since Ra is known to the Egyptians, as the source of all Light, the Qabalists know Ra as the Fool or the Path of Aleph, who is the Source of All Light .  This makes it possible to say, that the 11th Path on the Tree of Life- Aleph (Path of the Fool) rests upon the 22nd Path- Lamed (Path of the Adjustment card) and that Lamed (meaning-Ox Goad) is the regulator of the Path of  the Divine Life Force. That is also why I teach that "The Solar Husband is invoked by the Great Womb'".

The fact that the Womb invokes the male may startle some men who objectify women as an object of sexual desire for it is well known to both Tantrics and practicing Qabalists that the Life Force, and/or "Sex Energy" is invoked by the Great Magnetic Female, to regulate and establish her Forms.  The Form of Him came from the Womb of Her, i.e. "Ra is said to live by Maat."
It is also a known fact that the atom of negative electron polarity (Female is negative Polarity) attracts positive polarity electrons (Male) and because of this principle the painting technique of Powder Coating works.

The Lord of Lightning servers the Great Magnetic-Ocean Mother.  To put this simply, The Great One (Kether) became Two, by the process of Adjusting Knowledge (Chokma)  and  Understanding (Binah), thereby, realizing He/She....and thereby established the equilibrium that produces and maintains all things.

The downward pointing Phallus and testes headdress on the female figure of this card....attests to this understanding. Those who Skry this card will not be unhappy that they did so, even if Geburah wields her sword in quick bright strokes.the discomfort  of emotional burdens, the burdens of perspectives, just fall away and the skry-er feels all "Warm and bright".
You may note that there are a large compliment of Planets involved in this card.
  1. First is Venus, which rules Libra.
  2. Mars is related because of the purging forces of Geburah.
  3. The Sun, as stated above, is involved not only  because the Path of Lamed runs from the Sun to Mars, but also because  Adjustment (Justice) must take place in the clear bright light of Truth.
  4. Saturn is exalted in Libra and finally;
  5.  Jupiter which is the planet of Chesed (Mercy). By acknowledging that Libra is ruled by Venus, is also to acknowledge  that behind Adjustment stands the Empress, the primary path of Venus, which is the perfect equilibrium between the forces of Chokma and Binah. It is interesting to note that the planet Venus refers to all of the Sephiroth and encompasses  every single Sephira on the Tree of Life. The implications being that Love is the Ultimate  Power of the Universe.
The imagery on the Thoth card is all about  "law and limitation", as symbolized by the throne of spheres and pyramids in groups of four, behind the Female figure. She is best described in Crowley's book: 777, as "The woman justified. By equilibrium and Self-Sacrifice is the Gate." He goes on to state; "She is the ultimate illusion which is manifestation:  she is the dance, many-colored, many-willed, of Life Itself.  Constantly whirling, all possibilities are enjoyed, under the phantom show of Space and Time; all things are real, the soul is the surface, precisely because they are instantly compensated by this Adjustment. All things are harmony and beauty; all things are truth because they cancel out."

Crowley understood, that the Soul, is the Mirror that our image is reflected in and it is by the Adjustment of perspectives, that our healing comes from. This may be why when the medical journals state, "83% of all healing, is by  placebo".... Something to ponder!

The Shadow Tarot Card Corresponding to the 22nd Path of Lamed, is #22-Lafcursiax. Therefore, Lafcursiax is the Shadow side of the Adjustment card.

"Also the lady Maat with her feather and her sword abode to judge the righteous. For Fate was already established."
Aleister Crowley, Liber CCXXXI

"The 22nd Ray appears behind the Tree in the tunnel guarded by Lafcursiax . . . She responds to a prolonged vibration of her name in 'F' sharp (upper register)."
". . . the sigil . . . a glyph of Unbalance . . . shows a pair of scales upset by a crooked demon with an inane countenance. The demon's left hand is in the form of a yod enclosed in a circle from which falls obliquely a sword . . . The scales symbolize the constellation Libra which rules Path 22 . . ."
Kenneth Grant, Nightside of Eden

Once again, many goddesses of myth are quoted in Linda Falorio's Text, The Shadow Tarot, Dancing with Demons.
At first we have the Dark Goddess Maat, shown as a Vulture, feeding a pet spider, strips of flesh torn from living souls. Here is a suggestion that Maat and Spider Woman of the Native Americans, is one and the same.

By placing a skull of Australopithecus africanus, a three million year old "missing link" skull, she has place this cards art in the years of the Nephilim who came from Nibiru, a planet of balance/imbalance and said to be the ruler of Libra. It is said that Nibiru bears down on our world in a 36000-orbit of the Sun, bombarding earth with destabilizing electromagnetic radiations, causing great floods, earthquakes, volcanism and various other disasters as earth's magnetic field goes into chaos.

The Nibiru cataclysm is a supposed disastrous encounter between the Earth and a large planetary object (either a collision or a near-miss) which certain groups believe will take place in the early 21st century. The picture of V838 Monocerotis, is supposedly proof of Nibiru.

The clay tablet image from Sumer, shows the Annunaki  from Nibiru, who were the Star people or "Those who from the sky came" and created, enslaved, and saved mankind.
Therefore  the Sumerian goddess Inanna/Ishtar is also associated with this card.
The Spider Woman is hanging upside down spinning her web to show 256 windows into other dimensions. She goes on comparing other goddesses from Africa etc.

The gist of all this abstract art is not only to convey the awe felt in the Tunnel of Lafcursiax, but also that the powers of Lafcursiax are operating on the razor edge of control and non-control or balance and imbalance. That upon returning, one is unafraid of and thus able to redress imbalances, as well as the ability to use powerful anger fearlessly to correct imbalances. Here, she states, is powerful passionate love and joy of life balancing on the dangerous edge of oblivion and bliss.  In other words, to fearlessly accept the Dark Mother's adjustment of your soul/psyche for the purpose of creating and expanding life. The ability to balance the tremendous force of the Kundalini, without emotional vertigo!
For me it was simply, I didn't care if I was obliterated or not. I trusted Her to know what to do with this journeyers soul/psyche and in that trust was my bliss.  The swirling chaos of the Spiral Universe, our birth place, is not to be feared.

When the Thoth or Shadow Tarot card is thrown during a reading, the querent is experiencing or will experience:
  • The making of a final decision. Judgment and sentencing by a determination of an issue without appeal on this plane.
  •  The querent is experiencing "What you put out, you get back". The Law of action- reaction, where the natural forces of nature reach a balance within the individual, setting things right.
  • The balancing of opposites.
  • It often means we are experiencing karmic adjustments in life from past thoughts and actions which have led to the present circumstances of our life. We are not bodies! We are a form of multiple conscious energy that uses bodies to work out thought equations to see if they expand and liberate life or if they stall and subvert life. We must know in order to expand our self -awareness and that of the Universal Self, from which we all are formed! This is the Law of Action and Reaction, that all mind is subject to!
The Negatives of this card are:
  • Inability to redress imbalances.
  • Fearing anger.
  • adhering to abstract, linear notions of Patriarchal law. Such as,  belief without justice, or Divine Right in hierarchies, or of placing woman in her "rightful place".
Thank you for your interest, comments and supportive donations. May you live long and prosper.

The Shadow Series; Thoth Tarot Key-9- THE HERMIT & The Shadow Tarot Key-20, YAMATU

THE TAROT OF ELIKey 9- The Hermit:

The finest thing in the world is knowing how to belong to oneself.
-Michel de Montaigne, Of Solitude

The Thoth Major Arcana Key 9 card represents the
Universal Principle of completion, contemplation, and introspection.

The Hermit symbolizes the wise guide who lights the way of wisdom in the experiences of life and is an invaluable inner resource for assisting us and others in our daily lives.

The three headed dog, who is the Greek Cerberus, guardian of the underworld, signifies the part of our nature that things are complete (one head looking behind) before we move our attention forward. Cerberus, represents the dark inner and unknown parts of ourselves that we should explore and incorporate before wholeness of self can be experienced. The Shadow side of the Day side Hermit card.
The burgundy cloak is the Egyptian symbol of blood, that represents the inherent honesty and integrity (virtue) within all of us. It pays to remember that we inherit the great Wisdom, Integrity, and Virtue of the Divine and through introspection and contemplation we can "Remember our Divinity".

Astrologically, the Hermit is Virgo ( the wheat in the back ground)
, the sign that represents attention to details, organization, and beauty.

The egg wrapped in the serpent, is called the
Orphic egg
and symbolizes the ability to give birth to new spiritual and physical forms.

THE HERMIT-key 9 of Qabalistic Tarot, is known as the Path of Yod on the Tree of Life. and connects Tiphareth (Sephiroth called: Beauty) and Chesed (Sephiroth called:  Mercy). In other words, the Path of Yod connects the Christ-Buddha intelligence to the Architect of Manifestation, that is Chesed. Therefore the Yod is the self sustaining point of  primal beginnings in the Universe. It is the coming of the Light of manifestation through the Microcosm; the manifested Universe in direct contact with the Source of All.

The Path of Yod, is from the Demiurge out of darkness and is known as the Intelligence of Will. The Hebrew letter Yod, means Hand and according to the text Sepher Yetzirah, Yod is a simple letter that is attributed to sexual love.
The letter Yod is phallic in shape and is considered the Male-Fire which rushes out toward the Female-Water. These meanings seem curious at first, since the sign of Virgo (the Virgin) is attributed to this Path, giving us the understanding that the Hermit is to be ever-virgin, pure and totally innocent.

The very word itself, Hermit, comes from a Greek word meaning desert, the place where extreme ascetic monks lived in walled up rooms with one window. Which seems to add to the very mystery and solitariness of the Hermit figure standing alone, holding its own source of light. Reminds me of the Christ as the "Light of the World".
This image of the desert is a compelling one, as it is conceptually a vast expanse of earth, seemingly as vast as the Ocean.

Binah, the Great Mother is often called the Great Ocean Mother Mari, and is seen in the image of the dark, deep, endless waters of the Universal Unconsciousness. Thus, we can envision the desert as a conceptualization of crystallized precipitation out of the Vast Ocean of Binah....which is called 'The Light". It should be noted, that the Higher the card is on the Tree of Life, the more important it is that we let the card suggest such images as they will. So once again I heartily suggest skrying the cards as an aid for deeper understanding.

The same intelligent energy suggested by the FOOL card, also expressed the HERMIT, as  the wise old age of the Child (Daath- which means Knowledge) and the virgin beginning of a new sequence...From Macrocosm to Microcosm. Here the Microcosm is seen as the purity and innocence of the Fool that is transformed by its "passing through" the Ocean of Binah. In other words, the purity of idea, transformed into form by the Understanding of Binah, the Mother of Consciousness.

When we look at the HERMIT card, we see an Old Man, and nothing of the Child, yet they are one and the same. This concept maybe best understood by meditating on the image of the Serpent that eats it's own tail.

THE HERMIT  also represents communication between the Higher Self of Tiphareth, and the Spiritual Self of Kether, i.e. The Rauch and the Yechidah as they are know to Qabalists. The Hermit is called the first of the three great initiatory cards, LUST,  and THE CHARIOT being the other two; However, the experiences of  all three of these initiatory Paths may be gained on the Path of the High Priestess (middle pillar), the one that goes straight up from Tiphareth to Kether, crossing the Abyss and its devastating isolation while the innitiate experiences  Divine reconciliation through isolation .

Of the Hermit, the descriptions are many and arcane, but it must be remembered that this Key-9 Card is primarily about union, representing the first point of awareness of the Higher Self of the Supreme Spiritual Self; a union that is often explained in the most erotic of imagery as it is a copulation of Intelligence; an action from which the Microcosm is born.

On the Tree of Life, Tiphareth is the Objective Solar Logos, the center of objective energy produced by the Sephiroth- Chesed (Demiurge) as a direct link of the lower to the higher. Since Paths are subjective, the Path of Yod, the subjective  link of understanding, is on the Hermit. Simply, if we are to understand the Transitional Energy from Demiurge to Logos,  we must Travel the Path of the Hermit, rising above Tiphareth toward Chesed, in order to subjectively view the Logos center!

In both Hebrew and Greek Metaphysics, Logos means 'Word", depicting vibrational Power. The Greek scholar, Heraclitus , described the Logos as a "spermatic; a Divine Fire which stimulated and maintained order." A Dark Fire or Dark Energy transitioning into Light.
I hope I clearly established the fact that The Path of Yod (Hand) which is THE HERMIT card, is the Path of Spiritual Fire into the Microcosm (Microprosopus) .  The Yod is the All Father, Chokma and the PATH OF YOD, is the manifestation before the Abyss which is related to the Logos (Word), that is objectified as Tiphareth on the Tree of Life. To some the Word, is confusing:However, the Word is that  vibratory will/ force which continually stimulates manifestation.
This stimulation also energizes the principles of form (Binah) which it has produced. Thus Kether, the Crown, the origin of Fiery Spirit, is seen as the One that from itself produced Two which refers to the Electric (Male) and Magnetic (Female) forces of the One Energy. There is a lot to wrap your brain around here, but that is mostly true of all the symbolism of the Major Arcana. But too make this One/Two symbol easier, just view a 0 and then twist it into an 8, now One -0- has become Two-8-. Therefore, male and female became at the moment of the "Twisting".  As Einstein stated, this is a spiral universe.

Often, the Hermit is related to the Christ figure, but he is better related to the Hebrew pathfinder Moses, who led his people across the Egyptian desert (and was a go between the masses and the Annunaki/Nephilim). In fact, an early Gnostic sect, The Simonion Gnostics, that had taken its name from Simon Magus, first described in the Acts of the Apostles, that the Logos was objectified as Moses. These second century Gnostics taught that the Book of Exodus was an allegory of the soul being led by the Logos (Moses) through the desert of human life into the spiritual promised land. Many of us of the Western culture, know the story of Moses as a Thaumaturge (Arch-magician), whose staff is a wand of enormous power that can strike water from rock and turn into a serpent upon his bidding. The allegory of the  "Magi's wand", turning into a serpent force, refers to the use of Kundalini (Yod) force by the Adept Magician. This serpentine force is a Sacred Fire that is the essence of the Logos transmitted by the phallic wand. To a Tantric, this wand would be called the Divya Linga, Divine Lingam.

Other references to Moses and the Sacred Fire, is the told as God interacting with Moses through a burning bush. Making Moses an intermediary or tool of the Supreme Father. Therefore, Moses is the Hand of God, which emphasizes the meaning of Yod as hand. In Fact, the hand of the Hermit is open, as opposed to the closed fist  meaning of the Wheel of Fortune (see past blog), and means ultimate  Power while also depicting innocence, as an open hand can give or take with out the impediments of thoughts or moral restrictions.

The Thoth Deck Hermit card, shows the lone figure cloaked in the Red of Binah, showing that he is rooted in the Great Mother, depicting the motion and activity that is essential to the Yod which is the Intercourse of Chokma and Binah. He flows to She who then conceptualizes energy into form and/or Wisdom (Chokma) is objectified by Understanding (Binah).

The concept of the Cosmos encircled by the Fiery Spirit  (Yod), is shown by the Orphic egg, wrapped in a serpentine image of the spiral energy.  Cerberus, the Greek three headed dog who guards the gates of Hell, is tamed by the Hermit and is a willing companion. There is an interesting connection here to the Goddess Hel-Aine, and Her Three Yonis (Vagina s- Maid-Mother and Crone), but I'll leave further explanation up to the investigative student of magic, as I don't wish to offend the the flesh-o-phobes of our dogmatic culture. However, The Shadow Tarot attempts to conceptualize the Consumptive Yoni (s) of the Dark Goddess.

On the Thoth Card, the image of the spermatozoon represents the Yod energies in the world, while the staff which transmits sexual force (Kundalini) is totally hidden. Which is not the case of the Japanese ink scroll depiction  of Bodhidharma (470-543 CE.) , the first patriarch of Chinese and Japaneses Buddhism who himself was as a Moses. The Spiritual Fire  and wand, of a Magus is depicted in this illustration,....before the flesh-o-phobia of Division- ism became popular.
I wonder, has it ever occurred to common man, that if you divide the Sex energy of spirit (Will) from the sacred- human-body, that it only leads to enslavement and sexual perversion? (Illustration from the Book: THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF EROTIC WISDOM by Rufus C. Camphausen.)
As Crowley states in his BOOK OF THOTH, "In this Trump is shown the entire mystery of Life in its most secret workings. Yod=Phallus= Spermatozoon=Hand=Logos=Virgin.
Finding out why the Divine Couple of the Universe worked for over 14.7 billion years to build below, in the Malkuth World of Physical Mater, a Divine Image called Hu (Chinese for God ) Man (Hindu word-Manas: meaning mind) i.e. YOU, will help establish Spirit body Union and the axiom "Above all things know thyself!". A lot of Divine work went into the making of You----and a lot of man-made history has been devoted to  the Pavlovian process of demeaning yourself and your sexual unions so that you could be ruled by those who can't rule themselves. Something to ponder, as your self value flounders around in debt-slavery, and dark pornography, while trying to make "ends meet".
The Shadow Tarot key 20-Yamatu, is the Shadow side of the Thoth Hermit key 9 card. The Dark side of the Hermit/Osiris is the God Set, therefore, in this cross sectioned card, the Standing Stones rest on the sigil of the Egyptian dark god Set; serving as a threshold into the netherworld of the Psyche. This visual reminds us of the Callanish Stones of Outer Hebrides which formed a gateway for the Great Old Ones (Eld) to come and enter the consciousness of humankind.  As the legends go, the stones are astral machines that condense Astral Light and/or electromagnetic energy, that when properly looped and aligned, generate a "Worm hole" into a parallel universe, often called Universe B, our dark birth place and home to our Elders. It is said, that in proper alignment the Stones of Yamatu can raise storms or quell them.
The seething, flaming serpent-haired  Great Dark Mother, (Hel, Typhon, Medusa) whose penetrating  and petrifying gaze turns the fear of death into a paralysis of the psyche. Those who are unable to face the lonely dark stared chaotic night that resides in the heart of matter can go no further and are blown about in the spiral dark turbulence. We know the big bang was a screaming hell of energy that blew dark matter into the Void. The First great Phallus of God. And yes we are capable to reach the depths in our psyche, that began there.
When we skry this card and begin channeling the Power of Yamatu we gain certain psychodynamic abilities:
"Also the Priest veiled himself, lest his glory be profaned, lest his word be lost in the multitude."Aleister Crowley, Liber CCXXXI"
The 20th Tunnel is under the aegis of Yamatu whose name should be intoned in the key of 'F', in lower register and with sighing or murmuring undertones . . .
"The sigil of Yamatu is a secret cypher of Set. It exhibits the inverted cross which signifies the downward passage or crossing into Amenta . . . "
Kenneth Grant, Nightside of Eden

The Amenta, (rather than being the New Guinea myth of creation where this word originated.) is the Pleroma or Astrals. The powers that are attributed to Yamatu, are:
  1. Awareness of Earth magics and the ability to commune with this Great Lady Earth consciousness.
  2. Understanding of meridians, ley lines, Water witching and even the principles of feng shui.
  3. Abilities to activate ancient power sites.
  4. To cleanse black water lines (Dark Energy).
  5. To cleanse the psychic atmospheres or what some call "cleansing negative energy".
  6. Working with crystals, the planet Chiron, crystals in general but especially fluorite.
  7. The power of wholeness, self-healing, through meditations. etc.

When the Hermit or Yamatu card is thrown during a reading, it implies:
  • That knowledge is needed, meditation and prayer are to be used to hear the inner self.
  • A deep desire to follow that which is meaningful  and/or heartfelt to you.
  • Time to gather enough data and information in order to sort things out.
  •  Introspection which may require you to withdraw from others or the usual environment in order to gain the perspectives needed.
  •  A stage in life where Wisdom is sought. This is a great card for skrying, as it is of the Inner Wisdom that we so much need to KNOW OURSELVES! So I suggest skrying side by side, the Thoth Hermit and The Shadow Tarot-Yamatu cards.
Thank you for your interest, comments and supportive donations. May you live long and prosper!

The Tarot of EliNot all misfortune is Karma. Life is a "crap shoot" of the "fragmented many" of Life, where the dice is thrown, some losing their center making them collide.
Therefore, no matter the dirt life has dumped on you, it washes off when you are determined to apply the soap of joy.
Then again, sometimes it's fun to be a "dirty dog".

The Thoth Tarot Key10-  WHEEL OF FORTUNE, is called the Path of Caph (meaning Fist)  and runs from Chesed (mercy) to Netzach (Victory) on the Tree of Life. This path is on the side of the Tree of Life called The Pillar of Mercy, and connects the Personality to the Higher Self (all Serphiroth above Tiphareth are in the Higher Self). The Path of Caph, has a mediating function and the planet Jupiter is assigned to this Path. Jupiter, is also said to govern the flow of blood, thus reinforcing the mediating function of Caph.
The letter Caph, is a "double letter', meaning that it is a union of opposites, riches and poverty., which are the natural fluctuations of Jupiter's forces on this path. Since this Path is one of the "Gateways to the Soul", the riches and poverty here are of the Psyche itself.
The meaning of Caph (Kaph) is fist, and refers to a completion of an activity, such as, the closing of a circle or grasping comprehension.

This is a cycle, albeit a closed one, the Wheel of Fortune is considered a flow of Karma, which is a state of you get what you put out. The Wheel is an important symbol, besides that of a prayer wheel, it is also the cycle of birth, death and rebirth.
This is not a roulette wheel of chance and accidents, for in Qaballah, it is known that we are solely responsible for our own destinies which the words "freedom of choice" imply. The Wheel of Fortune supplies us with what we earn, which can be pleasant or unpleasant.
The interchange of opposites is what makes the wheel Spin, in this case, we have, the Feminine, Geburah :Severity, and the masculine Chesed: Mercy, interchanging their forces and form. This interchange of opposites, is shown by the Ten Spokes on the Thoth Deck card, symbolizing the Ten Sephiroth on the Tree of Life which is a continuity of Force and Form, in equilibrium.
THIRTY-TWO PATHS OF WISDOM:
The Twenty-first Path is the Intelligence of Conciliation, and is so called because it receives the divine influence which flows into it from its benediction upon all and each existence.
In his work, The Thirty Two Paths of Wisdom, Paul Foster Case calls the Path of Caph, the Intelligence of Conciliation  which would best be seen as a gyroscope, two wheels interlocking within each other, spinning in opposite directions, for this card represents the mediation of activity between rotating and/or moving opposites. The sense being that there is a cyclic and rhythmic  motion of activity, as well as, cause and effect.

What is interesting here, is that on the Thoth Deck Card, the Sphinx is seen as the stabilizing  element in the midst of change and is positioned on top of the Wheel. The ancient Egyptians used the Sphinx image as  the Pharaoh, usually vanquishing his enemies, with lion like power. Later on the Greeks, modified the Sphinx by illustrating it as a women on a  male lion's body. Thus, the Sphinx came to represent the union of  mankind, with the raw power of the animal kingdom, and a balance of male (electric) and female (magnetic) in the same form. Again the union of opposites, is the birth place of all Power.
The Qabalistic concept of the Sphinx is that it is the Synthesis of all Elemental Forces, much like the Pentagram symbol of Man, where the Spirit is the Fifth element above and  added to the four elements of the animal kingdom. In fact, among the documents of the Enochian Mysteries of the Golden Dawn, the Sphinx has four forms, that of a Bull, Eagle, Man and Lion. These four faces are also describe by Ezekiel in the Bible interpretation of his vision.  The Wheel of Fortune, is the glyph of perpetual motion where the flying Eagle balances the Man; the roaring Lion counterpoises the laborious Bull.

THE Qabalistic  21st PATH OF CAPH: Thoth Key 10-The Wheel of Fortune.
* Primary path color: Violet
*Musical note: A#
* Astrological Planet: Jupiter
*Meaning of Caph: Fist
* Hebrew letter-Double Letter: Riches-Poverty
*Esoteric Title: The Lord of the Forces of Life.
The Path of Caph, runs from Chesed (Mercy) to Netzach (Victory). Under Chokmah (Pillar of Mercy), Caph is the connecting Path between the Personality and the Higher Self.
Paul Foster Case wrote in the:
The Intelligence of Conciliation, implies that this Path, that is the Thoth Major Arcane key 10-THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE  TAROT CARD, has a mediating function.  Jupiter, which is assigned to this Path, is said to govern the circulation of blood.
 To Reiterate:
The Path of Caph, is one of the "Gateways of the Soul" that is attributed the opposites of riches and poverty, which can be considered the natural fluctuation of the Jupiter forces on this Path---these are riches and poverty of the Soul itself, and not of this earth (The earth riches and poverty are governed by the Disks).

The Sphinx (shown on top of the Wheel of Fortune) is the stable element in the midst of change (as the wheel spins). In the tale of Oedipus on the road to Thebes, the Sphinx bared the road and ask a traveler the question: "What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs at noon, and three legs in the afternoon?"
Failure to answer the question correctly brought on destruction. Oedipus knew that the correct answer was Man, who crawls in childhood, walks on two legs in adulthood, and uses a cane in old age.The Sphinx responded to Oedipus's correct answer by throwing itself into the sea; which is an action replete with meaning for a Qabalist for that is a "return to the Great Sea of Binah".

Recently the Sphinx represents the synthesis of the Elemental Forces (Golden Dawn: Papers on the Enochian Mysteries). This recalls the Pentagram, (symbol of Ascended Man), which is  the Spirit above the four Elements.

The Papers on the Enochian Mysteries even state that there are four forms of the Sphinx: Bull, Eagle, Man and Lion, making the Sphinx the cardinal symbol of manifestation. It is the Gate that one passes through both in birth and death and that Intelligence that controls the passage.

Being the directive power of the Higher Self in Tiphareth; the Sphinx is protective, and a Keeper of the Gates of Day side and Nightside, as gates swing both ways. The guardian keeps the Personality from absorbing more than its system of reality can handle.

The answer to the Sphinx's question is really an extension of the Greek axiom: Man, know thyself!  By throwing itself into the sea, the Sphinx has shown it is no longer needed when the gate is opened; the Gate Keeper was absorbed back into the individual Higher Consciousness, i.e. The Great Sea of Consciousness. The Personality is protected by the Higher Self simply by the destruction of those egos who are unready to pass consciously beyond the restrictions of time/space; which can also be considered as the real death process. Those who know the nature of the Sphinx may pass consciously from one state to the next, while others fall into a deep sleep, a "destruction" of awareness from which the soul gradually awakens into a new condition. In other words to know the answer is to remember "past lives" and to not know is to gradually awaken into a new life deplete of past knowledge. As you can see, this card's information is vaster than just the Sphinx legends, and Greater research is required.

In general, the card means that when the Higher Self brings the Four Elements (alchemy) under control , the vibratory patterns (serpentine forces), become our companion and we are no longer bound to the wheel of mundane existence.

The Three figures on the Wheel of Fortune represent the "Three Alchemical Principles" , which are called in the Hindu systemGunas;
  • Sativa (philosophic Mercury-Super-conscious)
  • Rajas ( Sulfur- activity, passion, and desire
  • Tamas ( Salt-- ignorance and inertia, subconsciousness.)
It is generally accepted that the Wheel of Fortune  represents the revolution of natural phases. In the Golden Dawn papers,  Mercury is  attributed to Kether, Salt is attributed to Chokmah and Sulfur  is attributed to Binah., i.e. "The Three Principles of Nature".

The dog faced monkey, on the left side of the wheel, is in reference to the Plutonian, Cynocephalus. Cynocephalus is the not only the companion of Thoth but also the symbol of time and eternity. Thoth, being called the Lord of Holy Words, by the Ancient Greeks and Egyptians, is the inventor of writing and scribe for the Gods who records the results of the weighing of the Souls on the Path of Lamed (See the past blog on the Adjustment Card).
Thoth is also said to divided time into months, seasons and years. Thus his companion is Cynocephalus, the symbol for time and eternity.

In a nut shell, the Words of Thoth are the vibratory patterns that turn the Wheel of Fortune. Being quite esoteric here, the Wheel of Fortune means that when the Higher Self, which is that which brings the Elements under control, bestows upon the Personality faithful companions that are the "words"and/or vibratory patterns that free the Personality from the General Wheel of Fortune Karma cycles that governs the "sleeping souls" who "above all things don't know themselves".

The Shadow to the Thoth Key 10-The Wheel of fortune, is The Shadow Tarot key 21 (Path of Caph in the Qliphoth) Kurgasiax, the Gateway to the Three Fates. These Three Dark Ladies called Norns in the North,( Horae or Moerae in Greek) are the Triple Goddess, who mates the unborn human soul to the end of a carefully measured Astral Thread of Silver light, which She plays out yearly until She cuts it, which is the time of death.
As "linodeousa" (Clotho- the Spinner) the goddess binds the soul to Life with Astral thread. The goddess as Cameria ,"catamerizousa', (Greek-Lachesis-The measurer) doles out the thread and lastly, Ialysa, "ialemistria" (Atropos-The cutter), the wailing woman, cuts the thread of Life. All of these actions are represented as dark hands on this card. In reality, She is the Faceless generic pattern of our DNA, our blood inheritance of our race and that of the Nephilim.

Around the central sigil, implying that one cannot truly master one's fate, are the imprints of the fixed stars of the Persians. Here is only the Goddess Herself, Death in Life, as seen through the unalterable influence of Her fated Stars.

When Meditating on Kurgasiax, the powers one hopes to achieve are:
  • Lucid connectedness to the Life thread (s) or Life Web, carried by humans, animals, and the Earth herself. The Power of "The Web Walker" or Husband of Spider Woman who can adjust the fates of others, but only if given permission to do so by the Goddess.
  • The power to accept and enjoy fate's seasonal turning of the Wheel of time, freeing one to pursue one's path, unencumbered by peer pressure, or the nonsense dual world of "right and wrong".
There are some who believe that they can escape their fate, or by-pass karma, thus being more "special" than others. For such as these I am sorry to burst your bubble of illusion, but Karma, individually or of the race must be lived out. Action/Reaction. Your DNA, is not by-passable. For many who study the mysteries, and succeed in entering the initiatory paths or gates, they experience death, or "dark nights of the soul" and reincarnation while seemingly keep the same body appearance. But this is in error, for they are restructured to a new purpose, and thus a new karma. Even though they have not been be-riffed of the body, that body is changed by the powerful events that befell the psyche in its spiritual transformations and new thread is spun.

The Thoth Deck Wheel of Fortune depicts the interaction between the Sphinx, Hermanubis and Typhon, Hermanubis is a dual god, combining Horus and Anubis and is written as Heru-em-Anpu, meaning  Horus as Anubis. Sword in hand, Heru-em-Anpu is often depicted in mythology as the slayer of Typhon, who is illustrated as a snake, Typhon was of Greek origin and was involved in the wars of supremacy of the Gods. But as time develops the complexity of Myths, Typhon became the dark aspect of Osiris known as Set, the combination of these symbols plays out the counter-changing influence of Light and Dark energy. In Quantum physics, Dark Energy is the Pushing Force, the "vibrations" that spins the universe and pushes it outward. This may cause one to wonder if "death" is the pushing force for Life.

When the WHEEL OF FORTUNE and The Shadow Tarot- Kurgasiax card, is thrown during a reading, it indicates that:
  • in the next 10 weeks or 10 months there shall be new opportunities for creating fortune in the querent's  life.
  • Life is moving and being busy here, so breakthroughs in prosperity and abundance are approaching fast.
  • Generally this is a good luck card depicting rewards and recognition for things completed.
  • When accompanied by many negative cards, the issue is a karmic one that must be played out with another. The other would be identified by a court card in the reading.

THE TAROT OF ELIKey 12-The Hanged Man. The Universal Principle of Surrender, Breaking Old Patterns.

The Qabalistic Thoth-Hanged Man represents a state of consciousness that recognizes a need for a pattern break. Recognition occurs when we realize that we need to change our mental posture, a kind of reverse thinking, in order to get out of a mental rut that is "Baffling" us.

The Thoth card shows a man hanging in the medieval practice of "baffling" which is a practice used to punish debtors. Therefore this card may be seen as a kind of crucifixion of the self-conscious ego to get rid of egoistic patterns that are no longer constructive.

The repetitive patterns of rutted thought are represented by the background of squares within squares. We are reminded that our "hang-ups" are preventing our growth but can also teach us where we need to free ourselves from undue self imposed limitations.

The reversed cross holding the foot of the man is known as the Egyptian Ankh which is  a symbol of universal life force (Union of Female and Male force) and is an inheritance constantly accessible to us for creative-making (a magi term for manifesting). We bind our selves by thinking and doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. This is a form of insanity that rejects our divine inheritance and bleeds us dry of our energy.

When in this state of blindness, we feel bound, or nailed in place and can see no way out. The solution is in surrendering to our inner-self, knowing that we weren't created to be anything other that a Divine being and that in us all is a Great Nature that creates, sees error and corrects it. Faith in oneself is known because we are good enough for God to create as It's Image--we ought to be good enough for ourselves!

The Path of Mem; Key 12- The Hanged Man.

Paul Foster Case wrote in his missive,Thirty-Two Paths Of Wisdom: The Twenty-third Path is called the Stable of Intelligence, and it is so called because it has the virtue of consistency among all numerations.
* Path Color: Deep Blue
*Musical Note: G#
*Meaning: Water
*Maternal Letter: Water
*Esoteric Title: The Spirit of the Mighty Waters.

The Path of Mem (The Hanged Man) connects Hod  ( 8-Splendor) and Geburah (5-Severity) on the pillar of severity (your left). The Hanged Man card also connects  Personality to the Higher Self, but in a much different way than those previous three that connect to Tiphareth (Beauty).

Often because of its curious imagery, this card has only been understood and publicly revealed in the past few decades.  Key 12 has a complex meaning and is related to Kether (1-Crown) as a motion. This is the Path of Water ( the letter Mem is one of the three Maternals), and in some respects represents  the Path of baptism into Maternal Water; each experienced Maternal Path is a baptism;
  1. Shin is the baptism of Fire (Judgment),
  2. Mem is the baptism of Water (The Hanged Man) and
  3. Aleph is the baptism of Air (The Fool).
The Water baptism is the central, and pivotal experience of the entire Tree of Life.Water means Consciousness, (1st Principle of Alchemy) even though not wet, this subtle substance is symbolized by Water because it has some of water's qualities, particularly as wave movement.  The Intelligence of the Divine Collective Unconscious operates in every sphere (Sephiroth and Paths, i.e. "numerations") and in the same way on all.

The Astral Fluid (Vitriol or Amenta of the magician) is the Water that underlies every thing and moves in waves (cycles) showing its similarity to  physical water.  When one is on the Twenty-Third Path, one is "drowned" in these waters and perceives himself/herself as an intrinsic and inseparable part of the One Consciousness. In this baptism, is  individual Consciousness created.

To be Key 12- The Hanged Man, we must become lost in our self; the unconscious no sooner touches us than we are it; we become unconscious of ourselves. The Hindu mystics called this the state of Samadhi, a condition where the physical processes are literally suspended ( Hung up side down) in trance while the consciousness affects a union with the Divine.

In practicing Qabalistic Tarot, it is important to know that the Path of The Hanged Man is only the first entry into a sequence of states of union with the Divine Inheritance. The idea is that we must move constantly upward on the Tree of Life. Only after experiencing the next higher Sephira are the qualities of the lower Sephira completely understood and can be directed by willful intent.

The Path of Mem leads directly to Geburah... the active/fiery part of the Pillar of Water below Binah ( the dynamic motion of the Higher Self ). The Hanged Man is resting his feet on Binah (represented as the Ankh cross-which is also symbolized by the Golden Dawn Cross above the Triangle in their deck. Also in gematria, 12= 1+2=3, the number of Binah). Easily summarized, the reverse figure on the card represents the suspension of personal consciousness (called ego by some) while a greater reality imposes a complete reversal of perspective (the "other side of the mirror"...mirror being another symbolism of water). Although this "human spirit suspended by a single thread" seems to be a sacrificed, it  is a willing suspension; a sacrificial baptism that is also a crucifixion---thus it is the card of the Dying God. This is essentially and intellectual experience and when viewing the legs of the hanged man you see the number 4--- the Four above the Three, i.e. the imaginative qualities of key-3 Empress subordinate to the rational qualities of Key 4 The Emperor. Here resides the ultimate sacrifice of desire to rational principle.

Behind The Hanged Man are the Emerald Tablets (summing up of all of nature). "The creator and destroyer who operates all change" is represented by the coiled serpent/rope that the left foot hangs from. The lower serpent represents the effect of the Divine Work. Crowley called this representation, "Through his Work a Child is begotten, as shown by the Serpent stirring in the Darkness of the Abyss below him."

It may behoove us to remember that serpents are the way to represent the motion of spiraling forces that enliven all things. Through out our histories, the Dying God is represented in mythology. Osiris, Prometheus, Odin, Christ, and even the Greek Goddess Artemis  was known as the "Hanged One"---none of these are the final body-death. Rather the mythologies represent the immersion of the Great Mother Spirit into the Astral Fluid of Manifested Consciousness. As always, these blogs are just short explanations of long probabilities...so research is necessary.

"Power lies in ultimate surrender of the soul in mystic union with the void, merging with the mother in the watery depths of the collective unconscious."

[from the book: The Shadow Tarot, Dancing with Demons , by Linda Falorio]

Malkunofat, key 23 of The Shadow Tarot is the Shadow side of The Thoth Tarot key 12-The Hanged Man, which is called the 23rd Path of Mem, on the Tree of Life. Malkunofat represents the deep depths one sinks into when seeking the denizens of Ancient Lemuria, submerged in their deep ocean trench. These ancient Lemurians were the guardians of the newly formed "mankind", guarding the Gate through which the "outer forces" ever seek to enter human space and time. They were purportedly form the Watery Dark Star companion of the Star Sirius and were called the "Nommo".

"The Nommo are mythological ancestral spirits (sometimes referred to as deities) worshiped by the Dogon tribe of Mali. The word Nommos is derived from a Dogon word meaning "to make one drink." The Nommos are usually described as amphibious, hermaphroditic, fish-like creatures. Folk art depictions of the Nommos show creatures with humanoid upper torsos, legs/feet, and a fish-like lower torso and tail. The Nommos are also referred to as “Masters of the Water”, “the Monitors”, and "the Teachers”. Nommo can be a proper name of an individual, or can refer to the group of spirits as a whole....(Wikipedia) ".

It is therefore suggested that to go through the Gate of Malkunofat, is to communicate with these ancient ancestors of mankind.
Everything about this card's art, depicts the deep dark depths of the Universal Collective Unconscious, where all Spirit (s) is One.
Here the Author of the Shadow Tarot couldn't resist the Atlantis legend as well. She goes on to state that the Ancient Women of Atlantis, sat before the Ancient Stone heads of the Ancients ones, singing and weaving frequencies of energy to keep the Ancient Ones at bay.

These ancient Priestesses were "the Wyrd (old English, meaning "to Weave") Woman", who could weave the frequency threads of the Etheric or Astral matter, to prevent interference from the Ancient Ones, as mankind was just developing under the tutelage of the Atlantians, and was too new , thus easily moved between the dimensions. It was feared that too much contact with the El would dislodge mankind form this earth.

These Wyrd Women Knew the secrets of the sacred alignments, therefore they knew the where, when and how  of opening the Gate that leads to the Sirius Star system, where star travelers make the dangerous leap from world to world; ensuring the Ancient Ones wouldn't make that leap while the human experiment was still not properly grounded to Earth. To this day, the ability to sing in the Astral Light Language, is the way to open or close Gateways to the other Worlds. To show how much power these Wyrd Sister's had, the Atlantean Gates have held for over 40,000 years, not damaged at all by the sinking of Atlantis.
Also depicted on this Shadow Tarot card, is the pentagonal altar stone: "The Shiva Lingam" or "navel stone" that was used to call the Old Ones from their dreaming sleep. On one side of this altar is the ancient sigil of The Old Ones, and on the other side is the symbol of the "Nommo". A third side is covered in the ancient symbols of protection form the Starfish like "Spawn of Tiamat", who are usually shown as Dragons.

Also as a "dragonish serpent" as shown on the ancient Sumerian clay Tablet, of the Annunaki and Tiamat Dragon.

Here the Shadow Tarot Card, the Starfish represents the blood (DNA) of the Ancient Ones that is the Seed- Life force of this Earth.  The many armed starfish also represents the beginning of all life in the "Waters" of the Unconscious Collective. Remember, water is used as the symbol of the conscious, since it is waves of data loaded frequency.
The letter E marks the entrance into the Tunnel/Gate of Malkunofat, representing the great Serpent or great maw of the telluric Dragon and/or the Great Leviathan that swallowed Jonah. Which signifies the Great Feminine Principle, Mother's secret "bagha" (protection) place The Life giving Womb of The collective Unconscious.
Also the letter "E" was suspended in the entrance to the Temple of Apollo as depicted on Delphic coins.

The Powers gained by entering the Gate of Malkunofat are:
  1. The ability to manipulate the astral plane, participating in manifestation on the physical plane.
  2. "Water witching", for that is the life blood of Earth.
  3. The power to transcend time/space.
  4. Man-made ego death by drowning the "small ego" into the Divine Collective Unconscious and experiencing the Nirvana of the Soul.

When the Thoth Hanged Man or The Shadow Tarot-Malunofat card
is thrown, the querent is:
  • In a time and place of surrender and should suspend their mind by letting go and volunteering to enter a place of solitude within.
  • This card states," In losing yourself you find yourself".
  • Sacrificing something of less value to gain something of higher value.
  • Sometimes involuntary sacrifice imposed on you by an outside authority. Like taking a cut in pay etc.; as shown by accompanying cards.

The Shadow Series; Tarot Card Comparisons: The Thoth Key 13-Death & The Shadow Tarot- Key 24-Niantiel

THE TAROT OF ELIKey 13-Death is about the 1st law of thermodynamics (physics) "There is only one energy that cannot be created nor destroyed but only transformed."

What we should understand before we get all "shivery" upon viewing this Thoth Tarot card, is that life/death are two aspects of the same state of being. Alive is life-death, to become alive is death/life  both are the destiny of energy- form in time-space. Therefore there are no divisions in energy as all flow is between two points in time and is often symbolized by the lemniscate (Greek for Ribbon) or Mobius loop.

The Thoth Death Card, represents the Universal Principle of Letting Go and Moving On. As Crowley stated:
" The Universe is Change; every Change is the effect of an Act of Love: all Acts of Love contain Pure Joy. Die Daily.
Death is the apex of one curve of the snake Life: behold all opposites as necessary compliments, and rejoice."

Death is the Scorpio astrological symbol in the deck. There are three symbols of Scorpio in the key which represent three stages of transformation and/ or death and rebirth stages:
  1. The scorpion represents that part of ourselves that is willing to protect, and move away from conditions which cause pain and hurt.Letting go.
  2. The snake sheds old skin in order to rebuild anew. This reminds us that in order to transform old identities, we must be willing to let go of the old and move on.
  3. The Eagle or Phoenix, is about vital force. of immortality and regeneration. The bird in or nature is vital free spirit who is irrepressible and ever changing.
  4. The skeleton represents the inherent body structure that allows movement and change within our self expression as well as, it is the "bones" of who we are and represents our ancestral lineage and our commitment to grow and evolve through birth/death cycles.
  5. The Crown represents expanded consciousness; where one has conquered the survival mind of the animal....We know we don't survive this manifestation. We move on to expand and liberate Life!
Death-key 13, is known as the Path of Nun on the Qabalistic Tree of Life. Nun, means, Fish
(illustrated on the card) and is also the Hebrew simple letter for Movement(Thus the running skeleton).

The Path of Nun runs from Netzach (Victory) to Tiphareth (Beauty) on the Tree of Life, and is one of the three aforementioned paths that leads from the Personality to the Higher Self. The initiate may experience the Higher Self on any one of these Three Paths, Art (The Path of Samekh), The Devil (The Path of Ayin), and Death, the Path of Nun; but the lessons of all three must be mastered.

The figures of the Art card, the Devil card and the Death card are all different aspects of the same thing; The Higher Self.On the Path of Nun, one is literally launching the personal consciousness into the Dark Unconscious of Universal Origins. Such a jump into the unknown, takes courage and determination, for the consciousness appears to be extinguished  in the Universal Collective Unconscious.

I liken the consciousness to an Artificial Intelligence, and the Unconscious as the Real Intelligence. Therefore this artifice aids me in trusting the dissolution of my consciousness, as a transition towards re birthing it purified of illusion and deception. In fact, the word meaning of the Path of Nun, Fish, reveals the whole arcane doctrine of the Qabalah, as it is the symbol for the "first matter" that moves within the Infinite Ocean of  Unconscious-------i.e. thought is a material.

The perspicacious student will note that the Tree of Life has a Path for Death, that of Nun, but seems not to have a Path for Birth: However, The Devil, Path of Ayin, enchains our personality in matter as it leaves the Higher Self on its journey down the Tree of Life. Thus the Devil is a card of Birth. Plus there is the fact that both Death and Birth are essentially the same transition. As one is born in visible light and/or "outer World", their "I" sight dies to the invisible or "inner world", just as the personality transitions from the outer world back into the inner world at physical death.  The One Energy Transforms itself by the process of  destruction of energy phases. From one phase to another. The Personality constructed consciousness, is indeed extinguished in the Unconscious causing a period of "forgetful sleep" before the Personality exits the Higher Self again and produces another operative artifice known as consciousness;
used to operate another material form. The exception to this recycling process, is when the consciousness accompanies the Personality back to the Higher Self, without needing physical death to do so. This is done when the consciousness has become discriminatory, and knows the tricks of Matter, i.e. the illusions of senses, that  the Personality experiences on the physical plane. These illusions or delusions come from the perspective of separateness and survival thinking of the physical form. Therefore, the fear of Death, must be conquered by the consciousness "that won't experience the death sleep" That is, the consciousness that knowing transfers from body to body, by Personal Higher Self manipulation will not forget "past lives". The Great Work, is Life itself as a Wholeness-----not a divisionism of  separates  all trying to prove themselves to a Creator that  by the very process of creation, had already Approve them into being! Those who are seeking approval, a survival mechanism of the social animal, are what I call "fish in the Ocean, looking for water." and/ or "Wanna-Be's" who forgot that they already Are.
The Beauty of Tiphareth, the Higher Self, is that once you return to this aspect of Personality, you return to your body knowing that you, as a Personality, are completely accepted and not fearing rejection in the least ( a mask of fear of death)! In other words, you "Know Thyself". The Tarot Card- Death-key 13, is called in the many texts of the Mysteries,"The Child of the Great Transformers"
and also the"Lord of the Gates of  Death". Implying that  Nun is not the Great Transformers themselves, he is their Child. Thus to experience the path of Nun is not Death itself, rather Nun is the keeper of the Gateway into Transformation. Roughly, this states that the "first matter", thought, is the Gate keeper of Transformation, which is not too difficult to "wrap your head around". Hopefully you understand that how you "perceive yourself" transforms your reality.

After Traveling one of the Three Paths of the "Dark Night of the Soul", where one's consciousness is torn down, relieved of all that is not worthy of it, as decided by the Higher Self, and then sent back down the Tree into one's Malkuth-body  transformation. One may notice that the perspectives of the Personality change from reality to the Real perspectives of the Great Work; To be an aware-sensual-Soul, rather than a socially made personality, is only possible by returning to the Higher Self....Your brain can't do the job as it is an artificial sense of self! Your body is but an artifice of Spiritual Self-identity!

There is also an alchemical symbol of this Path of Nun as
putrefaction, which is the decaying black mass in the crucible that eventually transforms into gold and is considered a trans-formative process of turning death into new life. Therefore the Thoth Deck card symbolizes this trans formative process as a scythe, a harvesting tool that is also a symbol for Time.

Time is under the control of Saturn-Binah, the giver and destroyer of Life Illustrated in this card is the sweeping scythe, harvesting souls, and the trans formative bubbles of new life in its wake, all of which, support this analogy of life giving and life destroying.

Again, the skeleton is the frame work that holds the organs and can be seen as a seed of the body as the minerals that are attributed to bone are the "seeds" of organic forms. The reason for the Scorpio astrological sign attributed to Death-key13, is that Scorpio is a trans formative sign of three symbolic images, the Scorpion, the Serpent and the Eagle. Thus, we have the transformation of a  dangerous earth-crawling creature, to a serpent which symbolizes the Astral Light, weaving its way upward to become an Eagle (behind and above the figures head) that sours above all heads. All of which are represented in the Thoth Deck Tarot Card as movement.

Movement being seen as change/transformation, which is the skeletal pattern of the Universe. For it is only by constant change can entropy be overcome. The term "Dark night of the Soul" refers to the darkness of unknowing, where the psyche is striped of  the desire nature of the personality. This leaves a dreadful emptiness, almost a complete disinterest in everything. Personally, upon experiencing these Three Paths of the Dark Night, The Devil, Art and Death, there was left only a thought of despair repeating over and over again, abolishing any other desire or thought. It was, " I can't be YOU, You must be me."     The Higher Self responded to that by sending my " skeletal awareness" directly to the Great Mother Binah, who then broke down and reassembled the Personality into that of the Original Divine Child, and I awoke as the "Will to Be" and/or the Desire of the Great Mother of Form to continue the Great Work.
This "outer-conscious" death to the "inner-Self" is a very hard journey to explain and it requires one not to be concerned with living or dying. One becomes a mechanical motion, pushing ahead with great faith, as Life's processes have no value, one must still mechanically crawl towards the Higher Self. Moving forward in a total darkness, inch by inch, the Soul (Psyche) begins the process of "putrefaction", believing, but not always so sure, that there will be light that will eventually appear and lead the way. It was a Red dot of light that appeared to me out of indescribable darkness....The Great Red Binah. the purifying Force of resurrection, Bathed me, Loved me (indescribable ecstasy)  and sent me back down the Tree into Tiphareth and the Fiery Light of the Higher Self.

Once a Divine Child always a Divine Child.... by wearing the masks of man-made definitions, we've forgotten that, and thus disinherited ourselves and our personality, from the Macrocosm.

The term "Dark Night of the Soul" was first coined by St. John of the Cross where he said."...although this happy night brings darkness to the spirit, it does so only to give it light in everything; and that, although it humbles it and makes it miserable, it does so only to exalt it and to raise it up; although it impoverishes it and empties it of all natural affection and attachment, it does so only that it may enable it to stretch forward, divinely, and thus to have fruition and experience all things, both above and below...."

Upon conquering the Path of Nun, the Soul is reconstructed as the Personality of the Higher Self, and the emptied brain is filled with the Primary Imagination...The will to form and
the Understanding of the Great
"Womb with a view".

Mars rules Scorpio. Scorpio rules the sex organs. Thus this Death Card, represents a Sexual energy, a reproductive energy which is consciously directed in a physical exercises such as  that of Tantra, or that of  Crowley's Middle Pillar, an activity best represented by Crowley's Death Card. The initiate is now following the "Path of the Flaming Sword", which is both destructive and constructive and not for the weak of character. or for those who fear death, as shown by trying to dominate others.
The Shadow Tarot key 24-Niantiel, is the comparable to the Thoth Death card key13 and the 24th path of Nun.  Here Baron Samedi (Voodoo baron of death), the guardian of the cross roads where the worlds meet, where the dead are buried, so that they may be risen from the dead with necromantic arts of witches and sorcerers, is shown as a type of joker or jester, rather than a skeleton.

But then again, he is a she, for Lilith also represents the Guardian of this Dark Shadow Psyche-Tunnel of Niantiel.
"As Eros draws life from Thanatos, in  merging with dark plutonian energies we find Transformation, regeneration, , energy, sexual power exhalation, joy, bliss."
The Shadow Tarot-Linda Falorio

"Also Asar was hidden in Amenti; and the Lords of Time swept him with the sickle of death."Aleister Crowley, Liber CCXXXI

"The 24th Tunnel is under the influence of Scorpio and sentinelled by Niantiel whose number is 160. The name of this Qlipha should be intoned in 'G' (lower register) in a manner suggestive of a bubbling cauldron of molten lava . . . "". . . depicted in the sigil of Niantiel [is] an image of Death with a five-rayed crown bearing a cross handled scythe beside the Cross of Set."Kenneth Grant, Nightside of Eden
All this wonderful dark-side image of the Tree of Life, the Qliphoth, has entities that instead of being called Sephira of the Day side Tree of Life, they are called the Qlipha.

Here the Qlipha, is the Conscious of Transformation, deep in the Collective Unconscious, at the cross roads of deconstruction and reconstruction. Nothing is wasted in this Universe of One Energy. All is just recycled, and reincarnated.
The images suggested by Linda Falorio are "scary and shivery" images suggested by our Dark Reptilian Brain, who above all things, fears death/ the unknown. She presents a nocturnal wolf like being, lapping at the blood of the "Saints", or those sacrificed to the monthly Dark Moon.
Again, we have the Dogon Nommos depicted as a fishtailed being from the Sirius system.
Also depicted is a golden angel, Lilith image with  goose feet and a cat' head. (depicted is a Sumerian clay tablet showing Lilith)  .
Also shown, presiding over all others is the Sumerian  demon "Scorpion Man"-AKRABU, thus placing the astrological sign Scorpio with this card.
From the Black temple works of Atlantean magics, to the Piscean  religions that offer eternal life through death, martyrdom, etc. Linda covers as many death cults as possible on a card.
With all this Death, and terrible creatures thereof, one may forget that this is a Spiritual Transformation card, and go all demonology-creepy, thinking that some great Death Stalker Demon type, will server you and avenge you against your enemies. With such thinking, you are your worst enemy.

The Powers received that are attributed to the Niantiel Qlipha are:
  1. Conscious reincarnation.
  2. The abilities to merge with dark plutonian frequencies of energy for transformation and regeneration.
  3. Personal magnetism, inexhaustible energy and sexual power, joy and bliss.

The  throwing of a Thoth Death Card or a Shadow Tarot- Niantiel card during a reading suggests:
  • Time, Age and transformation.
  • Rarely does it symbolize physical death and only if borne out by the accompanying cards.
  • For the Querent, this is the Principle of letting go, and moving on.
  • A rebirth out of Old conditions.
  • A type of transitional metamorphosis which destroys the something old to build the something new.. A Realization of Life Power as it is released from past confines and revitalized by change and regeneration.
  • That we are eliminating what is no longer in service.
  • Giving up your sense of self to a feeling of merging with another or The Greater Self who is both life-death.
  •  We are pruning and composing.
